I am not knocking universl here I enjoyed each and every ride but I felt the entire park lacked theming and just a lose your self environment. potter land was the exception as I have noted.

I started my statement as saying I want wdw to do the job done in diagonal Ally with Star Wars.

The unfortunate (for Disney) comparison that was made was build time for Transformers vs. build time for Mine Train. That is entirely unfair. While I would argue that Transformers is a better attraction (an E-ticket vs. a D-ticket), it doesn't mean that Mine Train is an easier build. Transformers is in a warehouse, exterior theming is there but is nowhere near as complex as Mine Train. For me, Mine Train needed 45 more seconds of coaster track or another show scene to be classified as an E-ticket. I like Mine Train a lot, it is a very good ride, but it's not at the same level as Thunder Mountain.

The better build time comparison for Transformers is Princess Fairytale Hall. It took Universal 14-15 months to build Transformers. It took Disney 18 months to change Snow White's Scary Adventures into a meet and greet. That is laughable.

i loved the Mine Train, especially in the back seat. You get amazing airtime. I also loved the animatronics and music on the ride.

Transformers to me was like watching someone play Call of Duty on a large screen. No heart, no soul, no engagement. It was Spiderman, if Spiderman sucked.

I have seen them build a TD Bank from the ground up including the demolition of the existing building in about 4 months...no way that a remodel of Snow White Scary Adventures should have taken a year and a half...They were in no rush to get it done...clearly.

Someone should start a thread, of an ongoing list of new things opening in Universal, before either Avatar Land is complete, or before we see one new Star Wars attraction.

Transformers and Springfield weren't meant to be major... they're bonus additions to help out before Diagon. They were dead space before either of them opened. They increased park capacity without really replacing any attractions (Hercules and Xena wasn't all that major...). What more can you ask for?

Springfield may not have been a major addition but it was amazing for me. They nailed the buildings and colors perfectly And it's very impressive imo. My biggest disappointment was lack of a more true to the story flaming moe :) other than that, the itchy and scratchy land uniforms are extremely funny and perfect for what it is.

Ohh I loved it too. It was perfect for Simpsons. Of course, as a fan of the show, I have a few things I would have enjoyed seeing:
  1. Evergreen Terrace M&Gs/walkthroughs
  2. Power Plant dark ride (all-ages, trackless)
  3. (pipe dream): Itchy and Scratchy flat ride and Mt. Splashmore/Duff Gardens water ride
  4. fully realized Androids shop (part of the requirement to work at Androids is to have a neck-beard lol... Universal has to do that)
  5. Springfield Police Station facade
  6. Springfield sign facade
  7. Krustylu Studios facade
Can't have them all though... maybe Universal Beijing will have a full-scale Springfield where you can walk inside everything? More than one major attraction would be nice, too.

I'm interested to hear more about the Soarin'-esque replacement for Twister, the rumored Fast and Furious takeover for San Francisco, Potter Phase 3, the KidZone revamp, and the rumored MSHI revamp (with Hulk getting some enhancements... I'd like to see Doom leave for an Avengers E-ticket, and Storm get enclosed/upgraded)

The Simpsons Krusty coaster was 100 times better than both, Soaring or Star Tours. Even though I love Disney and love both those rides, the Krusty ride was an experience unlike either of Disney's attractions. Comparing ride for ride, nobody should feel Disney has the upper hand. As far as park experience, Disney no doubt is better.

Uni Hollywood is getting some of those facades. The Springfield sign, power plant façade and much more. It opens up next month I believe and looks pretty good.

That's true... makes me almost want to go to Uni Hollywood!

Personally, I'm hoping Beijing has a full-blown land with walkthrough shops/restaurants, 4-5 attractions, M&Gs, etc. So much you can do with the Simpsons.

I see this sentiment a lot, but I personally don't agree. I don't need some ride to have amazing groundbreaking tech to be worthwhile. I'd be perfectly fine with using 1960's technology if it results in an immersive engaging experience. The things I love about Disney rides are they the best ones tend to have great visuals, interesting storylines and engaging songs/music.

To each there own.

I agree but splash mountain is really the last time they did this successfully.

Personally it comes to cost not just time but money - I don't have the time to experience every park every visit from the UK to Orlando. So if they don't put in groundbreaking attractions that park moves down the priority list. I am not wasting time on parks that build at a snails pace and the end result is pretty but lackluster experience.
