Easy now.
Youre right, no self-respecting Winter Park person would catch themselves slumming at WDW

TA's don't get free trips.. especially to Disney - they get "some" discounts but only if they have a CLIA/IATA # of their own (can't just be a home based travel agent with a few sells here and there under an umbrella agency). The discounts are cheaper tickets (but only for a few days), discounts on hotel rooms (but they are close to AP discounts), etc.

In fairness, by "Winter Park" I mean most of Seminole County as well, and quite a few downtown hipsters. The people who don't like even admitting they live in Orlando, and only venture west of Millenia during Food & Wine.
My family owned the biggest travel agency in Orlando, I can tell you, the perks didn't end at getting free trips.

At least one site (The Daily City) credited WDWMAGIC (at least @Lee and @raven) for releasing info on this subject/topic. http://www.thedailycity.com/2013/03/downtown-disney-to-transform-into.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed: OrlandoArtsBlog (TheDailyCity.com: Orlando City + Culture. So how many phases are there with this project again?
Is the stuff I posted more recent? Came from two different sources, but I neglected to check the dates. Also the layout photo (AKA "leaked plans") is old as well. Final plans have been made for this project yet they still have some old renderings.

Duh. Those Disney parking trams could potentially break a nail with their new doors. How in the world did we ever manage to stay inside those deathtraps for 35 years?!
Dont do it....Me and another well known member here have given it up. The benifits given by Disney to thier agents have been reduced.....imagine that. Also out of any vendor you sell for, Disney pays the least....10%
Your giving the public way to much credit..... We mostly cater to the first timers or large groups and people who just dont want to hassle with it. You would think that it was easy but you are very knowledgeable about WDW. Disney has actually made it harder and harder with the advent of ADR's and now NG. I honestly am glad I got out before NG has been rolled out. I cant imagine trying to book Fp's for a large group in advance. I still recieve emails from Disney that are TA centric. They still havnt provided training that is specific to NG which is very telling in when it will be rolled out. I mean wouldnt you think that they would have training for the TA's before it was installed? We really dont know anymore about it then the general public. As far as "free trips" are concerned. You get free lodging mostly which is nice. As for Disney you just get a discounted trip. Along the lines of a CM discount. There was a time when you would get freebies but with number of TA's explodeing they had to cut that back. We are offered "fam" trips all over the world but you pay for your own transportation. There ae people who make good money at it but its not easy. You being a 1%er probably have a lot of friends and connections with big dollars and might do nicely in the buisness.
That all depends if the TAs in question are the owners of their agency, and how much business it brings in for Disney.
I have friends at MK pulling 12-hour shifts this week--and actually glad to do it because the Mouse has been stingy with the hours up to now this year.
No doubt Easter weeks will be worse; I think we are still riding the wave that brought in huge numbers last Fall and over MLK weekend. (Trips were booked when gas was half a buck cheaper.) Also, EPCOT has the potential to get very busy on the weekends if word spreads among fanbois and the Winter Park crowd about the new "Half Food & Wine Festival."

I think I'd pass when the furs start offering happy endings..
Funny. I explained in my original post that those retailers and restaurants could change yet they posted them like they were official. Also the layout photo (AKA "leaked plans") is old as well. Final plans have been made for this project yet they still have some old renderings.
Oh well. Anything to pull hits to their site I guess.

Have you heard anything about F&W returning to DCA?I don't quite get that. I enjoy drinking at Disney because compared to LA, SoBe and NYC, the drinks are cheap. But compared to anywhere else in O-Town, they are overpriced and generally watered down (Mexico at EPCOT, nonwithstanding!)
But I would expect to see food and wine become a permanent component of F&G Fest going forward ... and soon two new waterfront dining locales with Morocco up next.
On the attraction front ..... yeah, I was just joking there!
