anyone know whats going on here? by typhoon.

first thought was construction staging area, but it doesn't seem very logical that they would destroy full grown trees for a temporary need, and this area is too far west to be connected to the overpass project.

It is a service yard. Currently contains a bunch of office trailers and staging areas.

What are the blue buildings way up in the parking lot by Cirque? Judging from the other blue buildings on the plan, they appear to be service and/or BOH buildings, but they're right next to a bus depot.

Anyone have details?
Unfortunately I don't have specifics but I do know they are service and/or BOH buildings. I think security has an office in there but otherwise I imagine it's probably Circ related buildings.

boh something, but its possibly at some date in the not super distant future they could go away, as logic would have said to include whatever is here into the new cast services building built in the west side parking lot

but we all know how disney doesn't use true logic much.

i wouldn't think they'd be cirq related but who knows, as the theater was custom designed for la nouba one would think everything they need would have been included when it was built

Photo update as of Friday, Mar 20. The base for the elevated crosswalk across Buena Vista Drive at the Marketplace are going vertical on both sides of the road. This photo was taken behind the Once Upon A Toy building in the Marketplace. The lights of the Buena Vista Drive and Hotel Plaza Blvd intersection are in the background.

Can you confirm the location of the "across the street" as to if this will be a one part or two part bridge?
as had been previously suggested.

I can confirm that there are construction walls and vertical construction for an elevated crosswalk in the locations marked # 1 (previously posted photograph, taken behind Once Upon A Toy) and # 2 (no photo yet). I cannot confirm location # 3. It certainly would make sense for all the hotels on that side of the street. I will go by soon and investigate.

Nearmap.com has images of that area from 12/15/2014 and it does show some work going on in location #3, but it's to early to tell in that image what is being built.

Photo update as of Sunday, Mar 22. Here is a photo behind the construction wall in area # 3, on Hotel Plaza Blvd. Definitely the support structure for an elevated crosswalk in the position as shown in the above photo.

The structure behind the construction walls at area # 2 has not gone vertical yet.

Here is a closer look at the support structure for the elevated crosswalk at area # 1, behind Once Upon A Toy building, near the intersection of Buena Vista Drive and Hotel Plaza Blvd.

Anyone know if any of the new elevated structures in the westside shopping area will be climbable? On my last visit a few weeks ago they just seemed silly. In the concept art I assumed they would be additional walkways or space for seating. I really do not dig these random sections that just seem to get in the way.

No, the plans to have seating on top of them were dropped at some point.
