Disney Springs development to bring massive expansion to Buena Vista Drive

Looking at the concept art there are 3 lanes, with the middle one apparently the bus lane. What I find interesting is in both renderings there appear to be two lines down the center of this lane fairly close together. The other lanes show traffic markings clearly. Could this be an indicator of some sort of light rail?

@PeterAlt we know it's you!

Looks like lines to separate westbound from eastbound bus traffic lanes if you ask me. Same look.

Those two lines appear to merge off in the distance (where the lane markings in the other areas are clearly separate all the way around the curve). My guess is that it's just painted as two lanes that are close together in the distance where the buses would be traveling slower turn turn in and out of the new central bus facility, and then separated to create a safety buffer between buses heading in opposite directions.

Orlando Parks News is reporting that construction of the I-4 ramp is about to begin:

http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2014/08/work-on-new-i-4-ramp-to-disney-springs.html

I have been looking for documentation on this project but haven't been able to find anything. The Disney/RCID permits for Disney Springs indicates that the ramp will be built by an outside party. I have checked the FDOT project list but don't see anything about this project.

Exciting.

I wonder if it will be completed by Thanksgiving when the first parking garage is expected to be ready for.

Looks a lot like the Universal Garages by the art work. Can anyone direct me to a larger overhead of what the final parking and roadways with garages will look like? I am very excited about this, parking has always been a nightmare all the way back to the Disney Village, pre Pleasure island days.

Now, when will they build the parking structure for the Studios so that can expand?

Photo update as of Friday, Jan 30. The elevated crosswalk across Buena Vista Drive near the West Parking Garage and the Team Disney Parking Lot is going vertical now.

Photo update as of Friday, Mar 6. The steel structure for the elevated crosswalk across Buena Vista Drive near the West Parking Garage and the Team Disney Parking Lot has been delivered to the job site. In the photo below, you can see one of three sections (the other two sections are to the left of this photo). The support buildings on either side of the highway appear ready to accept these crosswalks. This morning, the crane was taking tension on this section, however probably won't be positioned over the highway until late at night when traffic can be rerouted, at some future date.

Incredible, i am amazed at how the construction is finally taking shape. They should have done this years ago, but hopefully, with wishful thinking the traffic becomes smoother, adding a bus lane would make the Disney transport system so much more efficient. Hopefully wait times will be cut by at least 25%.

There doesn't appear to be a center support in the island between the two sets of lanes. That's a big span to cross without a center support.

big span yes, but its not vehicle carrying or anything so when the sections are properly connected together a center support isn't needed

looked like it was all just one piece when driving by on friday

definitely going to take a full night closure to get it installed, but they can prolly do it from like midnight to 7am to avoid completely cutting off access. and set up some crazy detours for the little bit of traffic at those hours.

their making lbv like an interstate totally destroying the scale of it, but it was a backed up mess before so they really had no choice.

this whole ds project is turning out to be a good thing that they delayed and canceled the hyperian warf project as the ds project has been way more entailed.

Photo update as of Tuesday, Mar 10. The three sections of the Buena Vista Drive elevated crosswalk were bolted together (not welded, as each section had open ended trusses for bolts) over the last few days and now consists of one large span supported on wooden blocks at the side of the road. The span has a pronounced arch so it won't require a center support.

Can someone tell me what the building is in the top right corner of the pedestrian bridge photo and when it was built? If this is at the corner of the access road heading into Team Disney, there never used to be a building on that corner (and it's not even there in Google Earth). I'm usually very current on what they're building all over the property, but this building somehow managed to escape me.

EDIT: It looks like on Street View that it was under construction in July 2014 yet not really visible from the street because there was a forest of trees in front of it. Now those trees are all gone, so it looks as if it is sitting right on the main road.

Here's the Street View in July 2014... https://goo.gl/maps/zNhPi

Can someone help me identify this building? :) Thanks!
