Disney Springs construction begins

I have a quick question, when will the Irish Restaurant close? or will it not close? I love this place and the atmosphere. It has became a New Years tradition standing in line for about 1hr and a half to sit out side. The food is amazing, I hope it returns in Disney Springs.
Ragland Road? I'm pretty sure it will NOT close.

Everything is full steam ahead

I am hoping that full STEAM ahead is a pun and you know for sure that the Smokestacks and the Paddlewheel are returning to Fultons. I miss the Tactile feeling and the sound of the Paddlewheel hitting the water, It made Fultons feel like it was a real Steamboat. I would love to hear that sound again at Disney Springs.

it's been discussed... and it's in the models... but I don't know if that is officially in the plans

Back in the day, when Fulton's was the Empress Lily and home to arguably the best restaurant on property (the Empress Room), the steam and moving paddle wheel made for a visually enticing atmosphere indeed. I still remember walking past the bar area on he way to the Empress Room and looking at the picture window which faced the always-turning paddle wheel. Really a great effect.

Sadly, I'm not sure that it was ever a part of Fulton's, or if it was, it was only for a very short time. Both may have been removed as part of the renovation from the Empress Lily to Fulton's.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Riddle me this: why are two of the five DTD parking lots currently closed? Is it part of the expansion? Why would they not first build one of the parking garages?

Two answers.

Never stop Disney from doing MORE work than usual.

And the Marketplace lots that are closed are all for one lot and the rest of that lot will be used for a new neighborhood.

I went to DTD Saturday night and man, parking is just one giant mess now! All the lots in the back of La Nouba were full which I have never seen. Luckily, the overflow parking at Team Disney didn't have anyone and it is not a bad walk if you are going to West Side or to the area where T-Rex is. They also offer a shuttle there.

Save PI blog somehow got recent pictures inside Mannequins and 8Trax. I'm no contractor, but it looks like they're digging up the floor of 8Trax to separate its utilities from Mannequins. So it's probably a goner. Once CW went, I assumed Laffers wouldn't be far behind as well.

Another one of King Bob's posts speculates they might flatten the area formerly known as PI. Not sure how that would affect plans to repurpose the AdvClub, but it's worth a read.

What I'm going on is the latest Downtown Disney map showing everything on the CW/Mannequins side gone *except* Mannequins (and this came out when they were still in the process of tearing down the CW). The AC/BET complex is still shown on the map, so I'd guess it's either staying or won't be removed until significantly later in the process. (And if *that's* the case, I don't know why they wouldn't do all the demolition at one time)

I know guidemaps aren't the end-all-be-all source for info on in-progress projects, but it was the first time I can think of that buildings disappeared from the map and were replaced by green grass *before* they were torn down.
