Disney Springs construction begins

Is that still the Adventurers' Club building I see there? Does that bode well for future development?

Not unless you're into cafeteria-bar (?!) hybrids with a train motif. At least according to Lee, tho in fairness that was months ago.

While I know that a return of the AC will (almost) never happen, I think I'd at least prefer to see the AC complex re-purposed than razed... Less-heartbreaking that way.

I hope that all of the unique artifacts from inside the Comedy Warehouse found a good home

Two things: Went to a movie last (Friday) night. Didn't even attempt to park "up front," but literally acres of open spaces behind Cirque. A bit busier than I'm used to, but still plenty of parking.

Second, rumor from the Lads & Lasses--so take it with a huge rock of salt--but they claim one of the Springs' new tenants will be ... Harrod's. First I've heard of that name, I don't really see it, but figured I'd throw it out there.

Wait you don't know that name - you don't embrace our exported British culture do ya....but I'll say this recently they have been getting kinda cosey again - with the whole "The Disney Cafe" thing ... but strange.

Oh, I certainly hope not, and I can't imagine that could possibly be true. I LOVE Harrod's, but it is a unique London experience and should not be franchised out to Orlando, Florida, of all places. Plus, I can't imagine it could be successful. Sure Harrod's does a booming tourist business, but that's primarily on souvenirs--teddy bears and tins of tea and such. The high end merchandise that is Harrod's primary business is not being bought by the average theme park visitor (me included!).

I totally agree.

Here's where we differ. Are you familiar with the Mall at Millenia? High-end stores on a par (price-wise) with Harrod's--that's who Disney is trying to go after. I admit, Harrod's would give them some name recognition with international guests looking to drop money--I could see using them as an anchor. I'd be more surprised Harrod's would want to debase its brand by associating with a theme park.

Does anyone know if Fulton's Crab House will be getting the smoke stacks and the paddlewheel back? They Appear to be on the restaurant in the Model of Disney Springs. If this has already been asked I am sorry, just wondering.

Or are they back already? I haven't been down to WDW in awhile.

They're not back. Will they ever be? Doubt it, but it would be nice to see again.

Not just that, but the RivieiraJenn is also forgetting something completely. Harrod's is an extremely high-end store, as most of you well-know. You're talking about UK prices at US prices. This is not necessarily taking advantage of the local high-end market and making Disney Springs seems a more likeable place for high-end customers to visit (Lord knows how many snobs hate DTD because it's touristy/low scale shops), but specifically taking advantage of the hundreds of people from the UK and Europe.

Not to mention, if I'm doing my research correctly, if Harrod's opens in DS, you're talking about the first-ever branch opening in the entire US. That alone will send people flocking to DS. Lastly, can't forget that even if the clothes don't fly off the shelves, they're like IKEA, where it has their own in-store restaurant...

The money speaks and if this rumor is true...windfall for everybody.

Do any of the Insiders know if Disney Springs budget has been cut yet, or are they still working with the original budget? If the budget has not been cut yet I hope that the smoke stacks and paddlewheel will return to Fultons like the model shows.

I have a quick question, when will the Irish Restaurant close? or will it not close? I love this place and the atmosphere. It has became a New Years tradition standing in line for about 1hr and a half to sit out side. The food is amazing, I hope it returns in Disney Springs.
