Disney Springs construction begins

I wish that we could get a construction cam like the one provided for I-Drive Live. That project is suddenly picking up steam. They must want it ready for 2014.
That would be an interesting way to build anticipation, especially since Downtown Disney doesn't have to be "magical" and construction would be a valid "in-story" plot point for the new community of Disney Springs.

I don't see it happening though. With the media scrutiny that Disney gets, all you'd need is a construction worker to scratch his crotch and the Sentinel would have a headline in fifteen minutes about the "Deviant sexual behavior at Disney caught on tape." They probably already have the headline prepared, just in case.

Where is cast going for breakroom? I assume that the offices, cds, and the grab-n-go are gone?

The offices were supposed to move to the construction trailer this past Monday. I don't know if they made the move or not. The cafe closed a month or so ago and the official break area is Pollo Campero.

To me, this sounds as desperate and cheesy (no pun intended) as the indoor flea market with world's largest pizza parlour that almost opened in Dixie Stampede. I just don't see the appeal to the general public.

And a Gamestop would?? To me a game stop or something like that is not appealing at all. At least with The Cheese Cake Factory there is very good cheese cake.

Not a fan of GameStop in Disney Springs at all (and don't see why TCF would want to be there). But the post you quoted was actually referring to the "Turkish Bazaar" re-do planned for Festival Bay. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

ETA: "cheesy" referring to the never-opened pizza parlour in the "Dixie Stampede flea market"

My question is, when I go to Disney during all the construction (later this year and/or next year) will they actually close sections of Downtown Disney, or will you be able to go into the various places despite the construction? The important one for me is Ghiradelli's. I go every visit to Disney and have a sundae. Will the construction impede my going do you think?

I would think that as long as they don't have plans to remove a specific shop then they will do whatever they can to keep it open during construction.
