Then again, maybe this falls under some OSHA or NTSB guidelines that you have to preserve the scene to collect evidence, etc before clearing everything out?
Per EPCOT Standard 5-1 the scene has to be preserved and documented by the Building Department.

5-1.201.3 Reporting/Inspections Following Accidents or Incidents. The Building Official shall have access to the site of an accident to an elevator or other transporting device regulated by this Standard, and shall inspect the device and record all information pertaining to the accident, and shall keep an accident report on file. The site of an accident shall be protected from vandalism; and damaged construction, operating mechanisms or parts thereof shall not be removed from the site of the accident until approval has been obtained from the Building Official.

Following an accident, the elevator shall not be placed back into service until all repairs have been completed and the work inspected and approved by the Building Official.

Within five working days after any accident occurring in or upon any elevator, the Certificate of Operation holder shall report the accident to the District. Failure to timely file this report is a violation of Florida Statute and will subject the Certificate of Operation holder to an administrative fine to be imposed by the District, in an amount not to exceed $1,000.

I wish the US would just switch to the metric system like everyone else. It's a simpler system to use as well. How many feet are in a mile? How many in the US can answer that question? How many teaspoons in a tablespoon and how many tablespoons in a cup? How many can answer that? People who cook a lot can but not many others.

Oof, I think there's enough arguing in this thread already without bringing in the better unit system :joyfull:

First I have to totally agree. Now to answer, 5k feet in a mile roughly... if i had to guess 5216 or something.
3 tsps in a table spoon and 3 tbls in a 1/4 cup, so 12 in a cup. A cup is 8oz and you need 4 to make a quart.

Oops, it's 4 tbls in 1/4 cup, so Its 16 tbls in a cup. That would make 2 tbls per ounce liquid. Why do i enjoy this? Shoot me lol.
Probably because my grammar school tried to bang both systems into my head in the late 70s to prepare America for the Metric conversion that never happened.

No this is getting boring let's go off the reservation. I'm I offending anyone with that saying? Anything Indian(American) seems to be offensive lately. Can't figure out why the Irish mascot is a drunken midget who is know for fighting, the Irish seem to love him but someone thinks having an Indian as a sport team's mascot is a bad thing?

That's one of the great mysteries of America.

Personally, I love the little Irish belligerent. Chief Wahoo was pretty cool too.

Bush Gardens in Virginia has gondolas inside the park for many years and no incidents. It gets hot in the summer. With so many units of course one is going to be bad. Nobody got hurt. They learned a lot from this. The Skyliner will work fine for many years. It's way better than buses. I wish in the future they connect Animal Kingdom with Hollywood Studios with a Skyliner.

Both my grandfathers were "fighting Irish" and proud so I'll never have grounds for offense.

I do get offended when somebody refers to my italian family as mob. Really don't want no trouble here.

We're more metric than you think. You have to use metric wrenches to work on any late model cars, trucks, heavy equipment etc. We buy pop/soda drinks in 2 liter and 1 liter bottles. Hospitals are metric. Even the drug trade is metric. Military is metric. Its coming give it another 50 years.

Just as long as we keep miles, feet, pounds, and Fahrenheit. The rest you can change :)

A football field will always be 100 yards, with a first down every 10 yards. Until the NFL folds up shop we’ll never be fully on the metric system.

...and yes, that game where you can’t use your hands is soccer, not football ;)

Disney will need to continue to offer buses at these large resorts to accommodate them.

Or... if you dont like the free transportation options we offer... you are free to use other options like minnie vans or your own options.

Disney isn’t obliged to fit every variation. They offer a complimentary service, you are free to use or not.

But wait until people claim the skyliner requites ada alternatives and they want free minnie vans

That's funny because according to that I live in the emergency zone 5 months out of the year. Here's what we use in SC for high school View attachment 417030sports.
Here's the chart used by the state of Florida. Both charts are about the same. The thing to be concerned about is that when the temperature reaches about 90°F (even with low relative humidity of 40%) extreme caution must be exercised to prevent heat exhaustion. And as we've discussed before some people (young, old and people that are not in good physical condition) are much more susceptible to heat exhaustion. And people suffering from heat exhaustion need immediate treatment to prevent heat stroke. A common symptom of heat exhaustion is nausea and vomiting which makes re-hydration by drinking fluids a no go. These people require intravenous fluids. Spending several hours in a gondola during the heat of an average subtropical day in WDW could very well be hazardous to anyone's health.

That isn't completely correct. Plenty of companies are covered that aren't in those fields. Your employer is covered in certain scenarios, most likely, because they have sensitive information regarding you and others.

Only as it relates to being part of the insurance processor loop. Your HR dept having to adhere to the policies as it comes to your insurance is limited to that. Disney HR being a “covered entity” has nothing to do with Disney’s relationship with customers, work incidents, etc.

If you are injured at work, HIPAA most certainly comes in to play. Your boss can't go tell all your coworkers that you cut your finger off yesterday, and that's why you aren't at work.

Not because of HIPAA if its information that was gathered there at work. A manager on a shop floor is not covered by HIPAA. Nor is your relationship between you and your employer make them a covered entity. You have privacy rights to keep information from them in many cases, but HIPAA is not in the conversation.

There are also state privacy laws that come in to play.

Yes there are other potential privacy issues - but not HIPAA here.

And similarly, Disney can not say "Fred Sandford had a panic attack on a gondola, and had to be removed by paramedics and taken to the hospital." That would be desimminating private health information about Fred that Disney has knowledge of because of the injury happening on property.

HIPAA does not constrain disney here. The place of business is not a covered entity nor is simple business relationships between parties bind them to orivacy. Disney, nor any bystander who discerns the information themselves are not bound by the HIPAA privacy rule. The privacy rule only applies to covered entities.

Ironically the party covered in your example is the opposite... its rcfd as they are an ems entity and provider in this scenario and hence covered by hipaa and florida privacy laws.

The situations you outline are more about “disclosure of private facts” which is a state law issue. Which btw, in florida has a pretty high standard for a plantiff to overcome... because of “newsworthiness”.

You know that is coming and probably lawsuits about Disney discriminating against the handicapped etc. etc. .

Well handicap disney is covered fine by the skyliners physical access. It would be those trying to claim their disabilities are covered and “substantially limits one or more major life activities”. I am not aware of cases pushing for these kind of phobias being covered... but no doubt Disney could be a magnet for a testing ground.
