I suppose that you could pay to stay at an All-Star resort, but go to a better pool somewhere else (even though you are not allowed)!

One thing I noticed when I last stayed at the Polynesian was that we were not told that we were restricted to the Polynesian pools, I don't even remember reading this anywhere - how does everyone know that this is the case?

2,740 minutes and counting..:sohappy:

POR and POFQ are considered "sister resorts" and you can use the pools at either.

The same is true for the All Stars resorts--you can stay at Movies but use the pool at Sports.

Yacht Club and Beach Club (and BC Villas) share Stormalong Bay.

Every other resort has its own pool for the use of its guests.

There is a sign at the entrance to Stormalong Bay stating that the area is reserved for Y&BC guests ONLY... or something to that effect. (At least it was there last Fall)

And yes, a couple of non-guests using the pool at Stormalong Bay won't really disturb anyone staying at B&YC; unfortunately, more than a few (as in a few hundred) would show up if it was open to every resort guest in WDW!

You might want to do a quick search on pool hopping...people have very definite opinions on it!

Every pool has a sign that says that it is for Exclusive use for guests at the (your resort here). At the polynesian there are also sign near the beach on the walkway from the TTC that tells people that the pool and beach is for resort guests only.

Ive never had a problem with pool hopping as I said before, and I will always do it. It's just fun to do and all the pools are unique and fun in their own way.

Do you have a problem with rules and authority?

Part of the problem with pool hopping was people who stayed off-site, got hot and tired at the parks, then went to one of the resort pools to cool off. Is that OK with you?

With your logic of "it's all one resort", day-guests are entitled to use / do anything for their $50 ticket.

I don't know Don, you're telling her to check her attitude, yet you're flat out admitting on the forums that you're stealing from Disney.

You probably don't view it as that, but you're using a privilege that you didn't pay for, and like it's been said before, if caught, although more than likely you'll just be asked to leave, WDW can add additional usage charges to your room bill (and they'll hold your bags until you pay) or just kick you off the premises altogether.

Pools

Yellow Shoes is completely right. Years ago we used to do pool hopping but now we wouldn't think of it. There was never a rule years ago but now it states it I think even in some of the Disney books (Birnbaum, etc). I as a paying customer don't want a crowded pool unless those people are paying what I'm paying and staying there. Then it's anybody's right but if it get's super crowded and a lot of those people don't belong there, then they should be escorted out. She doesn't mean to be nasty, she's not like that, she's just stating the fact. How would you like to be paying prices like Y&BC and Polynesian, etc, and have no fun in the pools because of the crowds? I feel if I'm staying at the All Star then I'm using all stars pools, if I'm staying at Contemporary, then I'm using that pool if I'm staying off site, then that's the pool you should use. There is nothing wrong with that.

YS's attitude is fine. She does have 24 years on you and that comes with a lot of experience.

Disney says officially that pool-hopping is not allowed and your statement:

the Disney Resort is just that, A MASSIVE RESORT, thats why I tend to use and sample all of the pools at my liesure...

says a lot about your own attitude. If you want to pool-hop, knock yourself out, but don't jump on somebody for wanting to obey the rules.

Edited to correct faulty math

I will stop pool hopping only if the foreigners and "large groups" stop constantly cutting me in lines. hahaha, that could be fair...

im not mad at YS either, (sorry YS and fellow YS rallyers!!) nor am I a rebel, nor am I even mean, or anything else negative, we've all given Disney 10s of thousands of dollars, and though I "steal" the pools, I always give them back in the way that I found them. God will judge me, you dont have to. (sorry for judging YS too)

YS would def. know more than me, she is a lot older as you mentioned....i just hope when I am that old that Disney does not have ticket prices in the hundreds for a single day..now THAT is scary when I have my 5 kids!

ps-am being humurous, or at least trying

I guess I have never understood the logic in pool-hopping. It seems pretty cut and dry to me... You swim where you stay.

According to some peoples way of thinking...if I stay overnight at the Motel 6, I should be able to wake up...hop in my car, then drive down the street to the Holiday Inn and go swimming in their pool...after all..they are both located in Central Florida so that makes it ok.:hammer:

Let's face it...there will always be people who bend and twist and intentionally misinterpret the rules so they can beat and cheat the system.

I can sleep peacefully at night knowing I am not one of them.:snore:
