Disney pools to be locked/ inaccessible in the overnight hours

I'm pretty sure some of the rooms on the ground floor at BC and BCV open up directly to a quiet pool area. No idea how you can put a fence around it. I can see it now when you check in you'll have to initial the line where it gives the pool hours and you are not supposed to swim after that time.

see my earlier post!
Perhaps just locking people in their room might be easier!

I'm sorry but this is complete bulls+%#!! I pay Disney good money for the "privilege" to stay at their (overpriced) resorts and if I get back from the magic kingdom/downtown disney/boardwalk/UNI Citywalk/where ever at 2am and wanna take a swim, I should be able too!!
This is a pretty unreasonable expectation. If the pools have been open 24/7 in the past, that was an overly lax policy, and it makes complete sense for Disney to scale it back. You might also want to eat at your resort's dining facilities after 2am - does that mean you should be able to just because you paid to stay there?

You paid for a pool view out of the hallway window???

Or you paid for a room closer to the main building?

The second of which obviously will not change.... and saying you paid for a preferred room for the view is.. uhh.. questionable.
It was a pool preferred room. They have four selections to choose from when booking online at pop century

I know they have a 'pool view' category of rooms... but you're argued your view would be impacted. Your view out this? Which also looks out to the walkway

This is not your standard hotel balcony view room rate. The category exists solely to monetize the room's proximity.. not it's view. And the fence isn't going to hinder your location.

I don't pay for the view. I know there is no "view" at POP. I pay the extra money to be able to sit around the pool right next to my room. I have a young daughter that goes to sleep at 7:30. I put her to sleep then sit around the pool and still be able to see her thru the window in her crib. If they put up a fence, I wont be able to see her thru the window anymore as I will see a large black fence instead.

Do you know something we don't know? Large black fence? Can you see into the future? How will I die?

Who said anything about large black fences? Do you think Disney is going to put their construction walls up around all pools?

You're just being irrational now.

I understand disney's liability (and will hate to see fences) but I really like being able to swim when I get back from the parks, especially in the summer months when the emh can go to 1-3am. Life guard or not I always assume we're swimming at our own risk. I just don't enjoy being in the pool mid day with what feels like 200 other people.

If Disney has to be in compliance with Reedy Creek by November, black metal fences like you see at Art of Animation is all they'll have time to build.

I fully expect any fences put up to be alumunium or vinyl rail fences... but those don't block your view. The other poster was inferring the installation of a large fence that would block all view from the pool.. like this..

Instead of something like this...

That's to bad! We are not late night swimmers, but early morning ones. I have been in the pool or hot tub at 6am before. It is nice to get a cup of coffee and sit by the pool to enjoy the quiet. Jumping in in-between sips. Even had breakfast there a few times.

Now wait a minute- if this the result of a Reedy Creek regulation and not an internal policy, why will it cover feature pools and not quiet ones?

It seems that this will just result in the quiet pools no longer being "quiet." Idk... I normally stay at CSR and the quiet pools are often empty and even when people are swimming they remain very quiet. And during my most recent experience, while at the main pool around 1 am, two 20 somethings were drunk and running around in child life vest, screaming, and climbing to the top of the Mayan pyramid; and security quickly came and removed them allowing everyone else to stay. So if it was a noise issue, why not just remove anyone being too loud?
