Thanks for sharing that. I was happy to see a familiar face or two along the way, Eric Jacobson being the most familiar of them all.

Yes!!!!! Amazing!!! So glad they did this, though I wish they had done it sooner. Nevertheless, it's wonderful!!! I particualrly love how many different divisions were involved.

This is awesome! I am so proud of Disney.

Although they already support GLBT with Disney's Pride Diversity Resource Group, I am thrilled to see them support Trevor Project.

I am also very happy to see this posted here on wdwmagic. Thanks Bolt!

Way to go Disney!

What is that? A way for Disney to hit another target market?

I think he meant to type "Resource Group." Kind of like a club, for lack of a better term. Anyway, excellent video.

The video is nice and all, but the focus seemed to be entirely on people who were picked on for being gay.

People get picked on for a lot of other things too, you know.

Thanks for helping me out Captain Hank. Resource Group is exactly what I meant to type.

Pride Resource Group was chartered in 1999 by the Disney Co. and still thrives within the company today.

The Trevor Project was founded in 1998 by the creators of the 1994 Academy Award-winning short film Trevor, a dramedy about Trevor, a gay thirteen-year-old boy who, when rejected by friends because of his sexuality, makes an attempt to take his life.

Trevor Project is a "non profit organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay,
bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth".

The "It gets better" campaign was geared towards junior high and high school age kids who felt isolated, and alone and felt they had no one to talk to. It's a series of YOUTUBE videos, of gay and straight people sharing how they felt in school. Many are teased, harrassed, beat up.

The point is high scool can be a terrible place to discover who you are, and to hold on... life gets better. Some of our most creative minds, didn't fit in during school.

There's already tons of places to go for that that make attempts to make you feel more welcome and included in normal life. People who feel isolated get a spotlight and that's a problem?

Plus, y'know, this specific thing usually leads to a lot more kids killing themselves. More so than "a lot of other things".

If any other organization wanted to start a campaign reaching out to children who have been oppressed or bullied for whatever reason - I am sure Disney would get behind it. This isn't favortism - This is partnering with a group with a positive message for young people.

That's what The Trevor Project and the It Gets Better videos are for. Check out their website for information on it.
