I do enjoy seeing a segment of a guest with disabilities with their dog.
I miss seeing Disney make commercials like this one made for WDW's 25th Anniversary in 95/96 from the Toy Story VHS from 1996.I'm not going to judge it until I see it in full effect. But it sounds like it's been done before. Wish they would bring back the magical moments of Year of a million dreams
I think more people pay attention than we think. It was in the middle of a recession when Disney was breaking record attendance thanks in part to people getting in for free on their birthdays.I feel like 98% of people wouldn't even know there was a marketing campaign or specific slogan at any given point in time. These vague "campaigns" don't really amount to anything. The only thing that really impacted people was Year of a Million Dreams because there were actual prizes that could be won. I think beyond giving away free stuff, the majority of people wouldn't know the current campaign if it smacked 'em upside the head.
I remember the Disney Parks commercials from the past such as this one for WDW from 2001 and 2002 actually made me excited to visit the resort.Lazy, lazy marketing. The slogan sounds like cookie-cutter "gotta be hip" corporate slogans that make no sense. The Disney Parks campaigns keep declining and declining in quality and uniqueness and it makes me sad.
I remember tearing up when I seen this from the Toy Story VHS at the beginningGotta love marketing.
Remember when WDW was proud it didn't need to market itself?
Show Your Disney Side was also social media heavy, and Let the Memories Begin could have been considered heavy reliance on social media as well. To me, "Unforgettable Happens Here" is just bland. At least the Disney Side ads were funny. These new ones just seem like vacation planning DVDs compressed into 30 seconds, nothing special. Of course, people can disagree with me but I have an interest in advertising campaigns and it seems like "Unforgettable Happens Here" is one of the worst for Disney Parks. The "unforgettable" slogan isn't terrible, doesn't necessarily roll off the tongue either but surprised Disney is going with a social media-heavy marketing campaign.
I hope the commercials for the 50th will be extra special.Could be worse. Be better if it didn't use the whole "Disney Parks" branding. But these things are a dime a dozen and this whole campaign will just be forgotten in a year or two once it's replaced by another one.
I do hope WDW gets a worthy marketing campaign/celebration for its 50th.
Yea. It was social media heavy. But I feel (maybe it's because I'm getting older) that it wasn't marketed towards me but instead teenage-mid 20's girls who like to Disney-bound. I understand that there are people of all genders and ages that enjoy it but you just don't see it MUCH outside of that demographic. And it was kind of harnless, like getting dressed for a pep rally.Show Your Disney Side was also social media heavy, and Let the Memories Begin could have been considered heavy reliance on social media as well. Yeah and don't show wheelchairs because I hate how long it takes them to load into vehicles - right?I'd rather Disney not encourage people to bring their "service" or "comfort" animals into the park.

Point missed completely. There's a reason I put the words - service - and - comfort - in quotations.
Easy to miss the point. First read I missed the hint of sarcasm. I would have dropped the mention of service and just left comfort animals. Service animals for many are a necessity. The use of comfort animals for anxiety has it's benefits. Unfortunately some people have really odd pets.
I have a close family member who uses a service animal so I just don't joke about it all that much.People also misinterpert or misuse comfort animals as being service animals, to say nothing of those who buy fake vests online and just carelessly use the term. Disney is obviously not trying to encourage that behaviour, but by showing it's OK to bring your dog in so long as it has a vest doesn't help those who really need them.
I'll let Snowflake Steve and his pet snake explain why Florida lawmakers are trying to crack down on this issue.
More Info please? WDW has always had commercials. I have every Planning Video before they went to DVD...I think. Were there any before 1992?Gotta love marketing.

TWDC were proud to say they didn't have to advertise WDW. Aside from a special event or opening they didn't run promotions or buy advertising.More Info please? WDW has always had commercials. I have every Planning Video before they went to DVD.
No, I don't remember.
