Don't forge the pirates singing "Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow" in tune to the attraction's theme song. And don't forget "Where's Jack Sparrow?"

Also Rent is touring nationally for it's 20th anniversary.
I think what gives it away is "Rent', seriously what's that?
Indeed. Even the official Disney Twitter responded jokingly.
GMR will be a Mickey attraction, as reported for the last year by our trusty insiders. None of this Twitter joke thing is real.
I don't see that they responded
And like so many before it, The Great Movie Ride braces for closing as another true Disney classic turns into a memory.
It's sad to see something so iconic, so orchestrated, so genuine, be gutted. No doubt, it's replacement will be a true experience but it will never be the kind of experience Great Movie Ride was. To me, the ride was almost as moving and powerful as the original EPCOT Center attractions. A clear message. It showed us how Hollywood has not only been shaped by us, but how it shapes us. From the music, to famous one liners, to dance numbers, Hollywood has an impact on us all. In its early days it represented optimism and, like many American dreams, it grew with only the belief that it could get better. Nothing like the Great Movie Ride has been done before and nothing like it will be done again I imagine. The opening left you excited, the gunfights made you thrilled, the aliens made you scared and the music made you feel. For me Tara's theme from Gone with the Wind always got me! No matter what people say, The Great Movie Ride has it's earned its place in history as a Disney classic, and after almost 30 years of being quiet on the set, it's time to say goodbye.
i'm 24Let's face it.. how many people <30 today have any affinity for 'The Golden Age of Hollywood'? Besides recognizing the names, how many even have an idea what the big names were famous for anymore?
The continuous output that is hollywood, combined with the incredible speed of technology makes modern audience less interested/aware of the product from generations before IMO.
Philharmagic 2.0 sigh. Hope this is a joke.
if this could not be a joke, that would be great thanks
Maybe the legal trouble is obtaining the rights to Mary Poppins.
As of four days ago, no.
That '80s Don Johnson Mickey was great! LolI'm just hoping they go the "Mickey throughout the years" idea. Such as starting from the 1920's and 1930's era straight up to the Band Concert with Classic Mickey then straight up to the 1940's with Fantasia (Sorcerer's Apprentice). After all Mickey's 90th Birthday is next year.
i apologize i don't know how to quote what you quoted without going back to find it, but i hope they do a timeline of mickey too. as much as i dislike his most current iteration, a ride showcasing every version of mickey i would prefer much more over one that just focuses on the way he's animated today. of course i know nothing of animation but it looks so cheap and cartoon-networky to me. I wish they would bring back 80s or 90s mickey! but I know they never willThat '80s Don Johnson Mickey was great! Lol
What is the track record for the Disney Blog? I've never been to that site before tonight.
Good to know. Thanks! The Disney Blog is pretty reliable, but since this is only posted on their Twitter and not on their blog or facebook page, it appears to be a joke.
But I liked the new 2013 Mickey shorts. Finally gives Mickey a break from edutainment shows.i apologize i don't know how to quote what you quoted without going back to find it, but i hope they do a timeline of mickey too. as much as i dislike his most current iteration, a ride showcasing every version of mickey i would prefer much more over one that just focuses on the way he's animated today. of course i know nothing of animation but it looks so cheap and cartoon-networky to me.
