@Lee @marni1971 does the Mickey ride have anything to do with flying or is it a land-based track(less)?
That's actually not what I said at all.Not really. What you're trying to say is that Disney can't afford it and frankly that's asinine. They have more money than god.
It's what you implied. That's actually not what I said at all.
Disney isn't some begger on the street.Basically what i'm trying to say is that yes, obviously they have enough space to build whatever anyone could possibly want. However a lot of times it makes sense to take things out to build things because when you add the additional operating cost on top of what was already there it's too much money. The park loses money off the expansion (not because of the expansion itself but because of the overall operating cost of the park has greatly increased).
Last I checked people love when Disney builds new stuff. Sounds like an always sound investment. There's a difference between being able to afford something just because you have the money, and making a good investment.
Ride system is on the floor.@Lee @marni1971 does the Mickey ride have anything to do with flying or is it a land-based track(less)?
CheersRide system is on the floor.
True, but shouldn't the goal be to make it more than a one day park after all these years? SWL will certainly help that, but it's hard to dispute the capacity issues DHS will have. It needs every attraction/show it can get.
I will second that...the parks are more crowded than ever...every new attraction brings even higher and higher attendance. At this point, they could save tens of millions by just cutting back their advertising like billboards...they don't need them,...completely unnecessary... the parks are already over full all year.Last I checked people love when Disney builds new stuff. Very true. And some ignore the fact that even though they don't care for the show, or have seen it many times, it is someones favorite show that they can't miss every trip - and those people will be upset when it is changed. You can't please everyone all the time.I just feel like people ignore the fact it has all of those shows because they don't want to see them anymore. A first timer friend is going this summer and she doesn't know how she is going to get everything she wants to do there done in one day.

Many attractions at other parks are much older, and still visited. Again, just because you want new shows, doesn't mean that it won't terribly upset people that consider them their favorites. It's not about that. I love the shows. But they're 30 YEARS OLD. LOL. Why can't we get new ones?

Oh, and I happen to agree with you, but simply pointing out that not everyone will be happy when they do change them.
and now you have just validated them never adding anything new, and never updating what is quite frankly the worst Disney Park in the US.And a BIG part of WDW selling point is nostalgia.
Oh, it's not wrong at all. We would prefer new ones as well. I think any of those shows should have, at most, a 5 year lifespan, and then a new show would debut. Again though, the problem like you mentioned is that people get attached to them.I know you aren't saying this, but I don't think it's "wrong" to want new shows.
And yep, I know there will be complaints when they do get changed. It never fails LOL. But that's the problem with keeping shows that are nearly 30 years old. People become attached. I don't think it's the same as "old" rides. JMO. I know we're mostly agreeing. And personally I like the shows, I wouldn't mind them updated if they're leaving them as is. But these shows should have a shelf life.
You all aren't paying any attention to what i'm saying. What I am saying is sometimes its smart to get rid of old rides for new ones because of diminishing returns. This has nothing to do with risk of building new rides. I've been trying to politely explain this for like 3 pages now, which sadly seems to have been a huge waste of time. Just because the park is crowded this doesn't mean nothing should ever get taken out. This is like basic business school 101 sh*t.I will second that...the parks are more crowded than ever...every new attraction brings even higher and higher attendance. There is absolutely NO RISK in building attractions at Disney World... Every new attraction no matter how lame will be at absolute capacity...even the worst attractions in the parks are busy...So not only can they afford to build whatever they want, the NEED to keep building stuff just to keep up with the throngs of people in the parks....
You all aren't paying any attention to what i'm saying.
