So you're saying it's cool for them to charge even more than they charged 5 years ago? When the park had a LOT more options for entertainment? To me, as a park hopper buyer, it does irritate me.

Scenario #1 - You are at WDW for a full week in July and you do not have Park Hopping. You would still only be paying $410 ($58.57 per day). You would not be paying the normal $119 a day for Epcot, DHS, and AK. ($124 for MK) Don't like it? Don't go to DHS and waste a ticket.

Scenario #2 - You are at WDW for a full week in July and you do have Park Hopping. You would still only be paying $485 ($69.29 per day). You would not be paying the normal $119 a day for Epcot, DHS, and AK. ($124 for MK) Don't like it? Don't park hop to DHS.

Scenario #3 - You are at WDW for a single day in July. You would be paying $119 for that DHS ticket. That appears to be too much for you so don't go to DHS.

You claim to be in scenario #2 so don't park hop to DHS. ;)

Don't get me wrong. I agree that they shouldn't be charging a full $119 a day for a single day ticket to a park that is a shadow of its former self. However, Disney's tickets are designed to get people to spend more days in the parks. They want you to buy more tickets. The more you buy the more you save and the more money you spend IN the parks. Would it be nice if Disney lowered the DHS price while they are tearing it apart and rebuilding it? Yes, but they are not going to do that so why get upset? Just move on to one of the other parks. Look at it like this, you are paying the same price if you go to DHS or not so don't go and utilize that money spent somewhere else to make it more beneficial to you.

How dare you bring logic and rational thought to these boards!

Yes you can come up with lots of scenarios to justify, but the fact remains that this park has been severely downgraded for years andf it is completely pathetic in this day and age that it will actually get down to 4 rides in the whole park. the TSM expansion is lame and lacks any sort of creativity and originality...It is all very disappointing.
but yes you can justify all kinds of scenarios for it...
Doesn't make it actually any better...

Of course it doesn't. My point is that it doesn't make sense getting bent out of shape about something that A) you cannot change, and B) doesn't really matter if you have a multi-day or PH ticket. You'll still spend the same amount if you go to DHS or not. Again, I agree that they should lower the cost of the park ticket because of the lack of value, but they are just not going to do that. Single day visitors are not going to buy DHS tickets as often as they have in the past because of the state of the park. Those of us that buy multi-day and PH tickets may or may not go to the park because of the state of the park. At the end of the day Disney will do what Disney does and continue to operate its business the way they do despite the way some think they should.

Disney is in the business of Customer Service. If enough customers feel they are not getting a quality product then it is inevitable things will change.

Eventually. How long did it take for them to start this new round of changes and additions?

Yep. $29/day plus tax.

Don't give me "inflation." Prices of everything else haven't quadrupled since 1989.

Has it increased at the same rate of the other parks or has it lagged behind or surpassed them?

Five attractions. Which still took the better part of a day to do.

If you measure by attractions, DHS still has enough attractions that will take up a better part of the day.

Except they're really not. I bet most people visiting DHS are doing so on a multi-day park ticket. If you're only there for one day and you pick DHS, then that's on you.
Technically.. this could means more people will have to flock to other parks, saturating them ( AK and MK will get the weight I bet)

So, I'm there Saturday and both aliens were working! Can't remember the last time that happened.

And our Mugsy was a really cute blonde. You know that part when Musgy demands your valuables? Yeah, this was me:

Maybe they're upping their game to keep it open longer. Say, at least until the end of the year? I'll be there in December! Just hold on a little longer!
