It started happening this week. Google, Netflix, the federal government - they're putting vaccine mandates in place. You'll see a bunch more in the coming days and, when the FDA inevitably gives full approval, you'll see a flood. We're moving past the tipping point.
To my understanding, the fed gov is saying vaccinate and mask up if not vaccinated, test once a week, social distance, travel limits. None of that is a big deal though I would like to know who pays for the test. And how many are working from home. Biden will not mandate the vaccine and no one will get fired. Then who cares. It's a joke.

I have heard this anecdotally but I have not seen any data on it. Yes, delta is more infectious so all age groups are likely to see an increase in infections. Yes, the infections numbers are skewing younger because so much of the older population is vaccinated, but I haven't seen hard data yet that shows kids are at a greater risk of severe illness then they were from other strains.

The thing is, kids getting infected - and, like the article I posted earlier, going to the hospital - is a dramatic increase because that age group seemed to have had a special resistance- in many ways, COVID was the opposite of the Spanish Flu, which was a buzzsaw through young people.

I’m not saying that they’re *as* vulnerable as adults. What we know doesn’t support that. But I am saying they’re hugely more vulnerable than before. They’re showing up in hospitals in concerning numbers. Reason to panic? No. But it’s a factor from Delta we really didn’t have to worry about before.

Exactly.

But there's nothing uniquely COVID about that. We never mandated masks to protect cancer patients from pneumonia or Flu A.
No but that was not a point I was making anyway when I asked what I did. They were just expanding on a reply to my question to you from another poster that both incorrectly and insensitive-ishly stated the cancer would kill them first anyway.

I would like to know who pays for the test.

I could see vaccination records impacting insurance premiums long term. They already, at least where I work, charge more for smoking. There's probably some legal work to be done, but I could see that happening. Dare I say it though, we'll probably all end up paying for it, regardless what people say.

I think that's something we can take away from this pandemic.

When in a situation with vulnerable people (a doctor's office, hospital, or nursing home) we should be wearing masks.

Those who can should get their vaccines, including the annual flu shot.

They're saying vaccinate AND mask up, not OR. It's essentially an anti-vax position because they're saying "we don't trust that the vaccine is effective enough."

At my hubby's place of employment, the employee if he gets sick will have to pay for the testing and use PT if he becomes ill. They also made copies of employee and spouse vaccine card.

Does anyone have the Disney face masks?
Do you like them?
Initially I was just going to bring a few disposable masks since I wasn't going to need them much but now it seems like I'll be wearing them a lot and the Disney ones were marked down much lower than any other masks I was looking at on amazon so I bought a bunch.
Now I hope I like them lol.
(The only mask I REALLY like is one that's not allowed so had to find something else)

They're not bad but we tend to size up on them. If you measured your face and they are totally off on sizing I think you can return and sometimes exchange.

Some Facts on all of this
1) Cases are rising in many areas including around Disney World
2)Unvaccinated people can spread Covid-19 and are at a risk of symptoms including hospitalization and death
3)Vaccinated people may be able to spread Covid-19 and are at a much lower risk of developing symptoms including hospitalization and death
4)Quote from Disney in June " it expects guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor areas"
5)Disney does not ask for proof if someone is fully or not fully vaccinated
6)The CDC has NEVER stopped recommending masks for unvaccinated people indoors

An Observation:
1)Based on pictures/videos I have seen, it is pretty clear that not ALL (I'm sure some were) unvaccinated guests were wearing face coverings in all indoor areas

I would heavily argue against that. Maybe higher risk-averse than you have to be (not uncommon for CDC guidance for any number of things), but to say that it's an anti-vax position is ridiculous.

I really like them. So does my brother. So does my dad. We bought him a Darth Vader mask back in July. That was the only one he wanted to wear the whole trip; my mom made him wash it. They're very silky. They do tend to run small, though. I'm only 5 ft tall and I have a small face, so I wear a large, but everyone else in my family would need an XL.
