As I’ve said elsewhere, my kids were in the phase 1 Pfizer trial. They are 8 and vaccinated. So Disney doesn’t know that all kids are unvaccinated and won’t be chasing 3-year olds. Most kids are unvaccinated, but Disney can’t know which and isn’t asking for proof. It’s on the parents.

They probably should have just said all kids two to twelve still require masks.

Just like adults wore masks regardless of personal vaccination status until numbers got to a certain point, the same can apply for the younger age group.

Adults who were vaccinated in trials still had to wear masks as well.

If your kid is not vaccinated have them wear a mask. If you are vaccinated and a kid is near you not wearing a mask who cares, you are vaccinated.

if you are some high risk group and can’t take a chance don’t go to Disney World right now.

Why is it more complicated than this?

I've been reading this thread since its beginning and I would like to thank everyone for their contribution. We have finally reached the day where masks are no longer required at Disney World. It seems the discussion has moved on to making others feel better and wearing a mask while driving instead of paying $9.99 on a new cabin air filter. Again, it's been fun. Thanks for everything.
Well, that’s not exactly true. Face masks at WDW are no longer going to be required for vaccinated guests.

If they are in a clinical trial, they have not been vaccinated. The results of the trial are not yet in and therefore you don’t know if the vaccine worked on your kids or if the dosage wasn’t right. Therefore, Disney says they need to mask up. Again, not arguing here just curious is Disney is setting up a policy they don’t intend to actually follow or if they are going to have a militant masking policy like they have so far. I have a friend going in 2 weeks and they ask me for all things Disney and I don’t want to tell them the wrong thing.
I’m not going to argue this with you. I will not be asking my kids to wear masks while tons of other kids do not. They’ll be more vaccinated than half the maskless adults. Let Goofy try to chase us. The costume has awful visibility. They’ve watched Home Alone enough times to know how to evade adults.

Don’t know why you are getting all bent out of shape with me. All I’m asking is people of the forums interpretation of whether Disney will enforce the new rule. The new rule says your kids need to wear a mask. Period. End of story. You won’t have to argue with me, you’ll have to argue with a cast member if Disney decides to enforce their own policy.

If your visibility is reduced wearing a mask, you're wearing it wrong.

Ah yes, the 18-year old will be arguing science with me as I’m walking into Peter Pan’s Flight. smh

They will not enforce anything. They are specifically wording this in a way that makes that clear. Don’t ask adults for a vaccine card but chase a 3-year old? No.

Yeah, well in the meantime people have vacations planned in the next 2 weeks and want to know if Disney is going to enforce their own rules and make our 5 and 3 year olds mask up since it’s impossible for them to be vaccinated. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see for what happens tomorrow!

Is it so absolutely difficult to pack some masks as a precaution? Good lord! If they need them, you'll have them. If they don't, you can knit them into some mouse ears and celebrate.

Well, that’s not exactly true. Face masks at WDW are no longer going to be required for vaccinated guests.
“While we will not require proof of vaccination, we expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, and upon entering and throughout all attractions and transportation. Guests must observe current policies on face coverings until June 15.”

Disney expects unvaccinated people to wear a mask, they do not require it.

I’m fully vaccinated and have been for a while. Every family member I have who is eligible is too. Covid is over for me.

You don’t need to wait to see, right now the same rules are in place for outdoors and has been for weeks , how many kids to you see not wearing masks outside, pretty much all of the kids are not wearing masks outside.

It's just the indoor stuff. But again, this stuff is going away, and if it doesn't, roll up some masks in a t-shirt and call it a day.
