Yes, but... How many people are wearing masks in their cars, because they know their cabin air filters are clogged?
I'd be willing to bet that virtually no one wearing a surgical mask alone in their car even knows their car has a cabin air filter.
Medical staff advises don't touch your face ( some don't listen ). Wearing a mask perhaps helps prevents some with their dirty hands spread germs to face that is non masked. Touching nasty dirty parts of steering wheel, dashboard, transmission lever, door handles then touching face without a mask, one could get the picture..

I feel like Disney is going with the same approach as other major companies— “strongly encourages unvaccinated to wear a mask” versus literally trying to figure out who is or who isn’t vaccinated. This is exactly what Target has on their sign— “We strongly encourage unvaccinated customers to wear a mask.” I think the mask thing has moved on to a personal choice— thank goodness!

I think you’re right. Wish my employer felt the same...

This is good news with no masks. We are one step closer to going, if they can ever fix the U.S/Canada border fiasco. I guess it still is required on buses, monorails and skyliners? But not the ferry even? Or boats at Disney Springs? Anyway, whatever the case is, by the time we get there all of this stuff will thankfully be gone. I've seen recent pictures, Disney is starting to look like Disney again. We were waiting for the mask mandates to get thrown out the way of the dodo bird. My guess is in a couple of weeks the masks will be ditched for the transportation as well. Just a hunch.

I highly doubt that masks for transportation will stop any time soon and I am sure the Canadian border will open up with mask rules still being mandated for air, bus , plane and train. Most likely masks for transportation will be around until Feb 2022 at soonest. I would think the feds need compare the height of the pandemic from last year to this year, which is Nov 1 to Feb 1 before we go putting people on buses , planes and train together with no masks. Plus, other countries are nowhere near where we are. Stopping mask rules on transportation first, then allowing other countries to come in doesn't make sense. I think it needs be the other way around.

Could you imagine the backlash if they lifted that restriction right now and come Jan we hit the same peak or higher as last year? I don't see any upside to the feds changing the rule on transportation any time soon.

Regarding Disney, they could of ended masks, social distancing and open 100% months ago if they wanted, they chose not to. As far as transportation at Disney they have been following CDC for the most, part but I do believe their transportation have to mirror the fed rules for now. If anywhere a business could get out of mask rules for transportation FL is it. If Disney ends mask on their transportation first it would not be a huge surprise, Disney just hasn't been following that path so far.

An honor system for the voluntarily unvaccinated is irony at its finest.

My 2 cents: drop all mask policies. The CDC already says fully-vaccinated people can resume activities without masks or social distancing. The foil hats who have chosen not to receive the vaccine are also the most likely to reject wearing masks. So what's the point?

We're getting close to that point. It's coming. It's effectively what's been done already, and everyone knows it, but with the wink and the nod to "expecting the unvaccinated to still mask up" to give some legal cover. Soon the CDC is going to issue new guidance that says children don't need to wear masks, even if not vaccinated. Once that happens, I expect to see all mask policies drop away pretty quickly.

Not sure what happened here. I was so confused as to why I had no recollection of my previous post. It says I posted the quote you replied to but it was actually someone else. So bizarre.

Legal cover is exactly it IMO. Our state has a liabilities protection measure which protects entities from COVID claims. It basically says, as long as you aren’t intentionally negligent you are protected. The legal folk have interpreted that as following the CDC and state / local reg/guidance to the T (whichever is more restrictive of course). Nothing more, nothing less. So as long as there is any segment that is recommended to use masks, I expect rules to stay in place and adjust accordingly, but as much as we want to say “it’s unenforceable and lets just be realistic here” it’s the legal angle were taking about.

Mandate for masks for transportation in the US will be lifted in Sept. Maybe even earlier. Airlines are pushing hard for it to be lifted, due to the policing issues.

The all out brawls , verbal and physical assaults on airlines are disturbing and captured on video. When I flew recently on United on a full flight there were no obvious disturbances , multiple reminders on the intercom system by the airline staff to keep masks on and warnings of possible arrest and fines by the airline for non compliance while in flight.

I never liked mask adnI am probably one of the biggest mask haters here, but to lift in September makes little sense to me. TO lift mask mandate at airports where everyone mixes before we have a chance to get through winter or give other countries a chance to get where we are at??

I Could see buses and trains within our country, but international Airports?
