Wow, lots of drama over the AFI exhibit at the end of the backlot tour! Also, he was that desperate for a Toy Story Mania preview? Sheesh. Never heard of this guy before, and I don't see him on Twitter, but it sounds like he probably deserved to get the boot.

Would love to know if any type of convo was had between David Duffy, Jackie Swisher and Amy Ardelean about JN.

In fact, I’d pay $169 just to watch and listen to it.

Disney has updated the how-to steps for getting into Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby during Disney Jollywood Nights.

Here's the latest update.

More About Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby

Tables will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby reaches capacity for the first seating of the night, at which point we will open up additional capacity with a mobile walk-up list throughout the evening. The queue for the first-come, first-served seating will open close to the beginning of the event; seating is limited and we anticipate filling that seating quickly.

Once first-come, first-served seating has reached capacity, check availability to join the mobile walk-up list for this experience throughout Disney Jollywood Nights. Please enjoy the other holly-jolly activities Disney Jollywood Nights has to offer while you wait!

This sounds… worse? Instead of fixing the VQ, they are creating another line that guests have to wait in at the beginning of the night, consuming valuable party time. What am I missing?

I’m guessing they do. They did invest a bit into this party and there is a ton of profit at stake.
If they did care they would’ve invested more than “a bit” into this party.

M&Gs: poor (98% characters you can meet daily)
Two Unique Bar locations: executed very poorly and cheaply.
Ride Overlays: nonexistent
Event entertainment: aside from short waits for attractions, this is the only positive of the event.

They don’t care. They know we’ll all line up and pay.

Agree, and I think it's such a dumb, short-term thing to do. They invested next to nothing into this, so I'm sure it pulls in profits. But, you've burned through a lot of good will you could have for future events. I have to imagine a lot of people will now wait to at least see what they announce for these things before even considering buying tickets (and even still, might wait for reviews first now). I'd bet a lot assumed this would be on the same level as the MK Christmas parties which is why people bought the tickets. Even the most staunch Disney defenders are panning this.

You're confusing poor execution vs. apathy.

The event entertainment alone showed that they care because it sells tickets.

I'd like to see what the next few dates look like before writing this event off completely.

Personally, I think the fact that they only offered 2 mediocre to okay entertainment offerings shows they were only looking to do the bare minimum. For an event that is about the cost of MMCP, it had a fraction of the features and gave guests less time in the park and less "mingle" time before the event started. Could it have killed them to put out complimentary snacks and/or non-alcoholic drinks like every other hard ticket event? More characters spread out through the park? More themed entertainment? Holiday overlay on Rides?

But to respond to your statement it's both, they don't care AND they don't know what they're doing.

The embarrassing paywalling of a watered down Jingle Bell Jingle Bam was poor execution and they don't care.
Long lines for limited offerings was poor execution and they don't care.
Terrible wrist band and now, for some reason, lanyard distribution was poor execution and they don't care.
Lack of an inclement weather plan was poor execution and they don't care.

This event was a slapped together as a if the president of DHS said to their underlings, "Let's do what the MK does, but I don't want to spend a lot doing it."

If only they had an advanced dining reservation system that they could use...

But for an event which is costing you $0.83 per minute per person, spending an hour paying a lot extra for generic light bites and some themed libations is nice way of being separated with your money.

Remember Santa Iger's Holiday Advice: "It's better to give......me your money."
