Stereotypes lead to some of the funniest jokes though. Take me for instance. I'm a huge gamer and I thought that WoW episode from South Park was hilarious. I'm also half Iranian (persian), so naturally some of my friends make the funniest politically-incorrect jokes about my ethnicity.

When did we as a culture start getting so serious about everything?

It seemed to happen around the year 2000. It accelerated quickly around 2010. And now here we are, scolding everyone.

Take me for example. I'm old. I'm gay. I'm Swedish. I'm registered as an Independent. I drink. I play very bad tennis. The jokes write themselves!

Okay, off the top of my head I can't think of a joke that starts An old queer Swede stumbles out of the bar and onto a tennis court on Election Day, and then...

But I'm sure if I worked on it I could come up with something.

We should start a People of Disneyland thread similar to the results you get from typing people of walmart into google.

how about a combo thread -- People of Disneyland @Walmart

Back OT to Cast Member dress code rules, it's going to be interesting to see just how wild and woolly the beards get at Disneyland now. If they just relaxed the rules on beards, and most CM beards of the last five years were already looking so patchy and scraggly and badly maintained, I can only imagine how they're going to look now. :banghead:

That new rule about little necklaces or bracelets just seems silly. What does a CM gain exactly by being liberated to wear one? Was it really such a big deal? Maybe @raven24 can weigh in with thoughts on that since she said she already wore a bracelet when she was a CM and no one ever cared? Why does that rule even exist? It sounds like maybe they knew that most CM's were already breaking that rule so they just codified into acceptability?

What an odd way to try and manage a business, to be honest.

I wore what I wanted. I wasn't paid enough and wasn't treated with enough respect to care what the company thought. And no one said anything.

Then again, they didn't allow my friend to wear her cast for her injured arm and forced her to work without one, which was BS. They didn't care. She ended up getting hit by a car off of Ball Road and passing away, just two days after they forced her to remove her cast, and they didn't give the rest of the team time to process her death and grieve.

Again, Disney doesn't care.

That is so horrible. I don't care how long ago it was , I am soo deeply saddened for your loss and her family's loss and it disgusts me how Disney treated her and you.

Thank you. I think about her sometimes. Both of her parents were deceased at the time she passed. She only had her grandmother and fiancée at the time. I hope they’re both doing well.

Disney definitely treats their employees like trash. I’ll never work for them again.
