Disney Fireworks

I dont suppose anybody has any images of where the fireworks at WDW are set of from it looks really close when you are there. How far away are they set of???

I assume you are talking about the Magic Kingdom Fireworks. In that case tha majority of the pyro is set of from a site a little ways north of the MK, however a good amount of pyro is also launched from the rooftops in Fantasyland. Tha main launch site is about 300 feet north of the railroad tracks.

Yeah, which fireworks are you refering to? For Illuminations, you can clearly see that the majority of them came from the middle of the World Showcase lagoon. The barges carrying them are clearly visible during the late afternoon.

Yea, once you see Wishes from Main Street make sure you catch Wishes! from Fanatasyland. From the carousel to the castle it is all roped up, but we stood right beind the rope and watched to firework go up right in front of us!!! Totally different experience, you'll get whip lash, but its so cool. And we got to see guys walking around with "Walt Disney World Fireworks" t-shirts on.

I saw the fireworks launch site on the backstage magic tour.
It is just off of Floridian Way road behind the Magic Kingdom.
I also found the spot on Google Earth - in that image you can see them offloading the fireworks from a truck.
The Google Earth co-ordinates are 28*25'24.55 by 81*34'52.48.
If you have not tried Google Earth yet you really should, it is so cool, but you have to have broadband to use it.

Wow, you're right. I've never zoomed in on the bunker before. It looks like this image is pre-Wishes, because I don't see the launch points on top of the Fantasyland buildings. You can see them from the windows of Cinderella's Royal Table, but they're not in this pic.

I see it. It does look like they're unloading thigs from that truck.

I can't remember what fireworks show was before Wishes. Can anyone enlighten me?

I'll keep this in mind. It sounds like it would be cool to watch. How about the noise factor? Does it sound like a cannon going off right next to your ear?:dazzle:

You may notice the WDWRR doesn't run during Wishes. During SpectroMagic it does. If you pay attention, you can see the "litter" from the spent fireworks in that area behind Fantasyland by the tracks. Last fall we were down just after a hurricane and it knocked a few trees down where you could see backstage to the left of the train. You could also see some of Fantasyland.

Actually the Railroad does not run during the parades as the parade needs to cross the tracks to get on stage.

My bad. I thought I remembered hearing it coming in and out of the station when we were watching from Main Street. Maybe they run until the parade reaches the Frontierland area??

I guess I'll translate this as "The train stops running about one hour before the fireWORKS and PARADE DOES run off the tracks (huh?) but the train DOES not stop running."

I guess I still don't understand. I was always under the impression that the train ran until the parade got to the Frontierland gate, and that's about 20 minutes after it starts, for the evening parade at least. The daytime parade goes the other direction if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah I think bluejayx is incorrect. I am almost certain that the trains stop when the parade gets to gate.
