I think it's pretty certain that DE won't stay. Neither of the first two scenarios would surprise me. The third option (a new show) would surprise me as they have 2 options that are guaranteed to be a success and there is a risk of a new DE-like mess all over again.

Lately, I'm actually leaning more towards the Wishes route. I think they may keep HEA in their pocket for a much later date and allow it to age like a fine wine.

Wishes would restore so much good will with APs and long time guests that has been lost over the last 24 months.
I can see the Wishes appeal, too. It will have been gone 6 years, so perhaps an easier sell on “bringing back an updated classic”.

Wishes with actual projections would be spectacular. But both Wishes and HEA hit me in the feels, so either would make me happy. I’ll be like, “baby, I’ll never leave you again!”

I agree with you that these are less risky. They know they have ticked off the fans. Wishes or HEA are easy olive branches to extend with strong guest ratings guaranteed.

Not related to WDW but looks like SW is going to have one of the better nighttime shows this summer. New show called Ignite 360. More lighting and more fountains.
When sea world beats wdw in nighttime entertainment they have a serious problem no matter how much they think they are the big superior place on the map

I'd take Magic, Music and Mayhem over a return of Wishes.

Summer 2010 was the only time it played to a non-party crowd and I'd like to see it in person.

Bringing back something akin to “Limited Time Magic” as part of the “Worlds Most Magical Celebration” with a revamped firework show, Guardians opening, and some other small things like rare M&Gs, etc, would help boost summer crowds even more than they’re already going to be. But as others have said, people are coming regardless and Disney doesn’t feel they need to do anything to draw people in. Nighttime entertainment brings in the ol mighty dollar even more as it keeps guest in the parks for longer, and typically contained to MSUSA, so they are shopping, eating, drinking, etc. seems like a no brainer but who am I to say

There was an after hours test of Enchantment at Magic Kingdom last night (5/19/2022) at around 11:30PM. Over the past few weeks they have been changing the pyrotechnics involved in the show almost every night. I managed to record the test show last night:

What are your thoughts about this test? What does it mean for Enchantment?

Not a test. There was a buyout last night that had Enchantment as part of it.

If HEA returns with "improvements", I just hope they don't replace Jeremy Irons.

And that reminds me of before Enchantment came out when I was absolutely certain the intro voice would be Mickey because it just seemed obvious with the 50th context. Silly me.

Jeremy Irons is in HEA?

The Happily Ever After Narration is by Tom Kane. He's just doing a very Jeremy Irons-inspired impression. It fools a lot of people.

I respect Wishes nod to nostalgia, but I feel like HEA connects better with the younger generation.

My daughters (10/7) can’t even get into Pinocchio and some of the those older classics.

There is a place for both shows to live on though.

Upgrade Wishes with projections, and restore HEA. Alternate the show throughout the week.

I'd make the argument that Wishes resonates with those of us who have seen it as well. Wishes has lasted the majority of most of our lifetimes.

This is the first confirmed park buyout with DE then. Nothing special done to it, unlike when HEA was privately shown, it had additional firework launch sites/permiters.

That was truly a spectacular to see. DE could've utilized even more extra launchers, but oh well..

It just depends on what whoever is paying for the buyout wants and is willing to pay for

Notwithstanding HEA, SWO has had the better summer entertainment since 2017 when IGNITE premiered. I'm super excited to see how they've reimagined Ignite for this year's event.

I don't care for Wishes personally but if they gave it a HEA style makeover, that would certainly win me over. I think 2020s version of Wishes would be spectacular.

I was at MK that summer for a high school graduation trip and, man, what a great show that was!! I really we could get seasonal shows like DL does. MMM is a great summertime show.

Yeah no I highly disagree with this statement. IGNITE is amazing don't get me wrong. It actually has my favorite soundtrack of any non-Disney firework show for a theme park. But in 2017, Disney had a fully staffed Festival of Fantasy, Illuminations: Reflections of Earth; Happily Ever After, FANTASMIC... Like I know you really aren't saying Ignite makes SWO's entertainment lineup better than all of the shows I just mentioned.

The only thing Disney had that was better than IGNITE was/is HEA. IllumiNations (as much I loved thee) was a joke in its dying years. Fantastic was growing stale and we're not discussing parades, we're discussing fireworks.

The Holiday Fireworks (Minnie, Holiday Wishes, Let there be Peace on Earth, Hallowishes) are also far superior.
