That official description of some of the show content sounds ...absolutely awful.
Too much Pixar crap....sorry, it's not 'Disney' no matter how much they push it.
( Yes, they own the studio now....yeah, yeah.....but enough with the oversaturation at the Parks!)
😒

Blah....
I was really hoping this was going to be something to specifically honor WDWs 50th, but instead it's just yet another 'movie highlights clip show '.... but with even more unrelated 'disney' material.

I will be in the Park on October 1st .....was looking forward to seeing this.
Now, not so much.

The projection effects that will happen on the Main Street facades will likely get a big 'wow ' reaction from viewers, but to me I find them distracting.
Having seen 'Disneyland Forever' in person a few times, that was my impression walking away from it.
Cool effect during some segments of the show, but gets distracting after a while.
The 'gimmick' wears off quick...but your mileage may vary.
Still, it will be interesting to see what is done related to this show....but the overuse of 'Pixar' properties already has me cringing.

Dissapointed to hear the news.
They should just call the show 'Disney+ Enchantment'.
😑
I don't get the impression that it will be enchanting at all......but we shall see.
I am sure the pyro elements will be great, but the content / themes....mmm, not sure.
Doesn't sound appealing to me, but again, everyones mileage may vary.

As soon as I heard Wreck It Ralph I immediately thought of the song When Can We Do This Again. I know its already used in WWOA at DHS. Might be the closest thing MK will get to PTN 🤣.

Since they mentioned Judy Hopps (Zootopia) I wonder if they will reuse the Try Everything segment from Shanghai’s show.

The real problem that I find with some of the selections (Raya, Luca, Onward, Wreck-It Ralph) is that none of these movies have major in-movie songs with lyrics… and Luca doesn’t even have a credits song! Soul seems fine to me, especially if the concept is going to be about finding your spark (or whatever).

I’m just as upset as everyone else. Magic Kingdom has always been the ornate park: Spectromagic and Wishes, for example, are the soul of what Magic Kingdom is: Dripping in fanfare and gold, waltzes out the nose and classical orchestration. The castle is big, and pop music makes it feel smaller. Even MSEP feels a touch too “pop” and jaunty for the park.

This show just, to me, doesn’t feel respectful of the history of the park. I don’t mind new things, but wait two years until introducing the lighthearted contemporary show, I think.

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the movie selection. Just as many, and as recent, as possible.

A good fireworks show needs some kind of unifying concept. "Fantasy in the Sky (1999)" was a tour of the park, "Wishes" was about, well, "wishes", "Happily Ever After" was a heroes' journey of sorts.

This isn't really about anything, which is a shame given the milestone its supposed to represent.

Wait what did I miss? Didn't all of the previews indicate that this was a choir and orchestral score? Now it's pop?

You understand that Disney has released *every single* Pixar film, right? EVERY Pixar movie was Disney from day 1.

The songs themselves from Onward, Zootopia, Raya, and Wreck-It-Ralph are contemporary, and imply a contemporary bent to the show should these songs be featured. If, as MisterPenguin points out, these IP are shown over more traditionally dramatic orchestrations, perhaps they’ll fit in better. But the source material, in my opinion, does not read as “classical” or “classic Broadway Disney” that is usually evoked in Magic Kingdom spectaculars.

Then again, I have no qualms when Lightning and Cruz zoom by in a big band version of You Got A Friend In Me, or Flik floating by to a very Broadway version of the song from Brave. I just think grandeur needs to fit the castle, no matter what the IP is. I just fear by centering IP that has a more pop sound will shrink the castle and diminish the grand magic of the park.

Yes, they were the film distributor of them indeed.
Pixar Studios made the film, then Disney would distribute / release them.
That was their co-agreement back in the day, before the buy out.
Now the Disney Company owns em' outright.

But for some, said films are not 'Disney' films.
They are Pixar films regardless of the buyout.
'Disney' animated films to me are 'Snow White', Sleeping Beauty', 'The Little Mermaid', and such.
Kinda like how most of the 'Star Wars' films were not 'Disney' films, but are now owned and distributed by them.

I don't view Marvel characters / films as 'Disney' either.
But perhaps that's just me.

It's all one dragons' opinion.
I grow tired of 'Pixar' related entities overtaking the Parks....your mileage may vary.

Well, this sounds like they really are locking this in as the true replacement for HEA.

As for getting an anniversary show, if you saw Disneyland Forever for their 60th, it was very much light on park stuff (“orange groves” reference? Check! Bring on the characters!). So I doubt there was ever going to be a fireworks show focused on the history of WDW.

Heck, just bring back the 15 Years daytime parade. You can overdub 50 on that pretty easily.

You could! Or something shorter than Festival Of Fantasy if we're still worried about COVID like Celebrate A Dream Come True!

Disney Enchantment's details doesn't bother me. Its no different than what DL did for the 60th. I'm more interested in when the new Perim spots are going to be used? They weren't in the Art yesterday.

You're welcome, Disney.

I hope Enchantment does away with the person in the tinkerbell costume on the zip line. Tink is supposed to be a tiny character flying up and over the castle.

Well seeing as they already described in detail the Tink moment and gold being sparkled everywhere as she flies… no.

“Everything builds to a climactic moment, as Tinker Bell takes flight, spreading shimmering gold pixie dust and empowering us all to believe in ourselves and the magic all around us.”

That does not mean Tink is the same setup with an actor ziplining to the top of a building. It may be a simple spark of a firework that sends "shimmering gold pixie dust" cascading down along the castle, the crowd and main street.

I don’t really know what’s happening 😂

I mean, I wish they could upgrade to the Disneyland Tink, but apart from that… she’s not going anywhere.
I think MK would need a longer wire to be DL'S system. Was anything proposed for Wishes' first successor back in 2011??
