Since somebody brought up Walt Disney. You know what could been really fitting for the fireworks show? Have the show play audio of Roy O Disney's "Dedication Speech" to Walt Disney World. And the projections would feature archived footage of the opening ceremony of the park.

Complete with this iconic image.

I could get behind that as a show opener. Then include some snippets from FitS, Wishes, MSEP, SpectroMagic, and music/content from attractions, like Pirates, HM, Peter Pan, IASW, etc. All set to an original score. Hell, you could throw a brief clip from Tron in there without offending anyone.

No way! They might run out of time for Luca if they did that.

agree was really hoping this would include nods to the park itself, but nope all cartoons and characters again one after the other.

I was hoping this would be more about the park itself, like the fireworks shows for Disneyland's 50th and Tokyo Disneyland's 35th.

Just another Disney movie clip show sounds pointless. HEA already does a good job of that.

HEA doesn't incorporate all of Disney's most recent movies, which is apparently the point of this show -- based on their released information that focuses heavily on them, at least.

More info from the DPB -

In “Disney Enchantment,” we join dreamers like Tiana, Miguel, Rapunzel, and brothers Ian & Barley from “Onward,” and we set out on an incredible journey with adventurers such as Moana, Raya, and Judy Hopps. Joe Gardner from Disney and Pixar’s “Soul” takes us into “the zone,” where we discover a whimsical world inspired by the style of legendary Disney artist Mary Blair and filled with beloved characters from classic stories like “Beauty and the Beast” and “Alice in Wonderland” to contemporary tales including “Luca” and “Wreck-It Ralph.” Everything builds to a climactic moment, as Tinker Bell takes flight, spreading shimmering gold pixie dust and empowering us all to believe in ourselves and the magic all around us.

“Disney Enchantment” features characters, moments, and music from dozens of Disney and Pixar animated films. The show takes us beyond the ordinary to a land of magic, where we’re swept up in a world of wonder filled with friendship, love and fun. Through it all, we’ll discover we only have to look within to find the power to believe and make dreams come true, because the magic was inside us all along!

the "wishes" part in the beginning had IPs not featured at disneyland park
Forgot about that part. You are right there.

With that said, all but that roughly two and a half minute segment of the show was focused on the park, and led right into a beautiful segment with Tinkerbell and Walt's dedication speech, so it definitely made up for that.

Disneyland Forever (Disneyland's 60th Anniversary fireworks show) is also guilty of this.

We'll probably end up with a quick sappy intro talking about the park, all sorts of IP for 15+ minutes, then a brief finale talking about the park again.

Disneyland Forever bothered me the most because it did that while purporting to be a celebration of Disneyland, but instead, it was a celebration of IP (as is everything from the parks these days).

The best parts for Disneyland Forever and World Of Color Celebrate is the projection of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse walking before forming the Walt statue during the finale. I wish there was a gif of that specific shot. Since that moment actually felt necessary.

The real problem that I find with some of the selections (Raya, Luca, Onward, Wreck-It Ralph) is that none of these movies have major in-movie songs with lyrics… and Luca doesn’t even have a credits song! Soul seems fine to me, especially if the concept is going to be about finding your spark (or whatever).

I’m just as upset as everyone else. Magic Kingdom has always been the ornate park: Spectromagic and Wishes, for example, are the soul of what Magic Kingdom is: Dripping in fanfare and gold, waltzes out the nose and classical orchestration. The castle is big, and pop music makes it feel smaller. Even MSEP feels a touch too “pop” and jaunty for the park.

This show just, to me, doesn’t feel respectful of the history of the park. I don’t mind new things, but wait two years until introducing the lighthearted contemporary show, I think.
