Y'all, the comparisons between the show have nothing to do with the pyro. HEA's pyro (including the finale) got completely gutted (also lasers removed) by the time it was last shown in September and it was still 10x the show DE is.

HEA is better because of the score, storyboard, attention to detail, emotion building and resolution. It's a Disney film in 18 minutes. DE is a Disney+ advertisement for 2009-present films.

Above, I was just pointing out the changes made to DE's finale last night, since they were kinda major.

But regardless, it still doesn't come close to what HEA's finale was. Although, HEA's finale was already being cut/gutted pre-covid around May 2019. The only real cuts made to it in 2021 when it returned were comets, mines, fans, and crosettes (all castle/FL pyro). The main shells behind MK remained the same for the most part.

Gotcha. Yeah, when I first saw DE and saw the number of shells going up I was ready to be blown away. And then I saw they were basically fire crackers lol

Finally, there's a big change up in the final pyro barrage. All the flying fish shells (launched from the 2 adjacent launches) have been replaced with crossette and palm shells, I think.

Regardless, these newer shells are better then the "cheap" looking fish shells. However, there's still a bunch of horsetails that replaced regular willows and such throughout the finale..

Still tho, DE still has a lackluster finale barrage when compared to HEA lol..
DE:

Meanwhile, HEA's....

That’s definitely an improvement. Not great or grand enough, but better. That’s been my number one grievance with this show, the horrible finale… so I am glad it’s been marginally improved.

I'm a big HEA fan. It's the only show deserving of a wallpaper on my phone. It's still there nearly 5 years later. I'm happy that they're doing projections down Main Street though. Something they could have done years ago. The only complaint I have with the new show is that Disney Enchantment sounds like the name of a new cruise ship, not a replacement for HEA!

Something went wrong big time last night (2/19)!! The 3 launch pads behind MK stopped launching fireworks for about 2 mins, right after Tink flies. They didn't come back until the last few seconds of the show..

The weather seemed fine, and winds weren't too bad, so I could only assume this was a technical problem.

This was the only video I could find on it (so far):

Yikes. Maybe, that's just the new Bob Cheapit (or however he spells it) approved finale? I mean listen to the stunned silence from the crowd. Obviously they're in shock and awe of how awesome it is. 😜

Seems like tonight starting at the villain's segment the show had more pyro and a few different shells.

Yah, and they also downgraded a bunch of the Moana reprise shells...which makes it look worse

Side note, they also (finally) ran out of the special Mulan shell from HEA recently (used in the climax of villian segment in DE).

Replying to this...

Found another video from 2/19. Pretty obvious the person behind the camera was going, "where's the fireworks?!" lol..

For whatever it’s worth, I’m still on the side that wind speed coupled with (most importantly here) wind direction is the trigger to what a guest would consider a snafu or technical issue. In reality, it’s more than likely not an issue at all and it was safety protocols that were implemented mid-show bringing particular effects purposefully offline (based on type, size, and location) until wind gusts settled to a point that were within safety protocols and allowed for the impacted effects to be brought back online into the show.
If something like this happened at Disneyland the fireworks part will most likely be cancelled or replace by smaller shells or projection-only. That something happened since Mickey's Mix Magic revolutionized how Disneyland nighttime entertainment can be offered in face of guest angry about cancellations or no nighttime show at weekdays (in case of off-season).
