It's incredibly sad to see Jim Henson's last project being abandoned and the purist in me hates it, but from a business, perspective, I get it, and this is at least an attempt at compromise. I'm hoping the old Racing Academy/Sunset Showcase space can be transformed into some sort of Muppet experience featuring elements of 3D like the animatronics. I've never been in that theater so I don't know what the limitations are but getting to sit and see a live Muppet Show in Muppet Theater would be a wonderful experience. If not there, maybe the building next to Hyperior where they show animation shorts to people looking for AC.

Literally, these

I would have less of a problem if the rethemed coaster was paired with some other Muppet attractions accessible to all ages, but nope, not seein' that here. Really bizarre move all around...
Disney knows the Muppets is definitely a more mature audience these days. Look at stuff like Muppets Now, they are appealing to that specific demographic. The Muppets have kinda shifted into the nostalgia age anyway and they know they are more popular that way. Incredicoaster is MUCH weirder of a reskin imo.

Yet another downgrade.

The entire fun of MV3D was the interaction with the audience. From the pre-show right till the end you got to experience the reality of Kermit and the entire cast.

With this you will have a 90 second dark roller coaster with a 2 minute pre-show and perhaps (as of now) the worst attraction queue at WDW.

And yes I'm sure you'll have a GOTG style rollercoaster with screens and set pieces sprinkled in with voice over dialogue. All very enjoyable experience when zooming by at 40MPH and inverted.

Does this wording seem a little weird to anyone else?

"The Muppets will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, teaming up with some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival!"

So it's not just the Muppets involved?

I think they HAVE to team up with someone. I adore Muppet songs - but "5,4,3,2,1......."banjo playing intro to Rainbow Connection" - doesn't quite give the same thrill at 0-60 mph.

Funny you should mention. I just did a few puppetry presentations for the Teach In at a local school, and I showed Muppet Show videos in each of them. The students were in grades K-3, and in each and every group, they lit up to see/hear Kermit and to watch the videos (including singing along with Mahna Mahna). These were kids that frequently didn't entirely speak the same language, but they absolutely could get enthusiastic watching classic Muppets.

If you're under the impression that Muppets are only for an older demographic, you either haven't been talking to the right people, or you don't know how to ask.

I don’t think Aerosmith was ever the reason people got in line.

True, but that highlights something modern Disney fundamentally does not seem to understand - people will ride a GOOD ride regardless of the theme, IP tie-in or not, but modern Disney is afraid to build anything that isn't something people are already very familiar with. They are absolutely relentless now with shoe-horning in marketable IP/corporate synergy wherever they can regardless if it fits or not in that park or area. This used to be the exception, but is now like 95% of what they do. Our only current hope for an original experience is the Test Track makeover in progress, which we know nothing about yet.

The result is all four parks feeling like a "junk drawer" as another poster put it. Random grab bags of Disney+ marketing just with different architecture and landscaping.

Epic Universe will be five lands that don't really relate to each other in any meaningful way, but within each of those lands, everything is cohesive. The same thing can no longer be said for the majority of the WDW lands.

The silver lining here, I guess, is that The Muppets are more "Hollywood" than a Moana or MCU coaster that they were likely itching to do.

Once again, Disney doesn’t GET IT. The appeal of Muppet Vision 3-D is that its ORIGINAL content. And that it’s a place to sit and rest AND not spend time waiting in lines. To have to stand in line to see The Muppets “perform” a new bastardized show, is a joke,

The Muppets haven’t produced anything worthwhile since Muppet Vision 3-D and nothing original since Muppets Tonight about 30 years ago. The best part of Muppet Vision 3-D is Statler & Waldorf mercilessly roast their own show. No originality in having Electric Mayhem perform cover tunes.

The removal of Muppet Vision 3-D will basically result in me deciding to spend only 2 hours at Hollywood Studios instead of 3.

More park level de-theming - what are the Muppets doing on Sunset Blvd? At least you could say Aerosmith played a role in the Sunset Strip music scene.

Gone is the era when each park day evoked feelings unique from the other...Disney should fill in all the spaces between the parks with rides and make WDW one giant generic IP extravaganza.
