Donald is not Mexican. That is fact. HOWEVER, his friend Panchito, who he is visiting, is unquestionably Mexican.

EXACTLY. He's visiting his friend who lives in MEXICO, gets lost in MEXICO, so his MEXICAN friend goes to look for him.
The focus of the attraction is Donald Duck, not Mexico or anything having to do with Mexico. The same idea with no changes would make sense in any setting, because the setting and Mexican culture have no position or value in the narrative of the attraction.

Very true. I know he and the gang are running through parts of Mexico, but I have no idea where.

Let me clarify: by classic ride system, I meant the fact that you're riding around in an old mill reminiscent of iasw or an omnimover reminiscent of THM, but you're just surrounded by screens. It's cheap, boring, and hopefully not the route they take here.

IMO 11 show scenes is quite good. I'm sure they'll be elaborate and will give a Disney dark ride feel. Sure Epcot is not the best place for this ride but what's done is done.

I am guessing they will be something like this...

1. Anna singing Do You Want to Build a Snowman.
2. Elsa singing Let It Go.
3. Elsa singing Let It Go.
4. Elsa singing Let It Go.
5. Elsa singing Let It Go.
6. Elsa singing Let It Go.
7. Elsa singing Let It Go.
8. Elsa singing Let It Go.
9. Elsa singing Let It Go.
10. Elsa singing Let It Go.
11. Elsa singing Let It Go.

Where else could they have found a far more appropriate and fitting area to build a fantasy attraction with enough room for a ride fitting of their most valuable IPs popularity? Somewhere large enough to hold a decent D-E ticket, store and meet n greet? With say a show building at least as big as Aerials Undersea Adventure with land already prepped and good access both on and offstage?

I wonder...

Oh look. A two acre site.

With even more ride space if they went upstairs too. Like Alice did in 1958 in Disneyland.

Not a "doom and gloomer" or an "apologist".

Just stating facts.
Except retail would have chained themselves to the front of the former County Bounty before letting them tear out the number two store. Wonder how that store does these days.

In answer to a previous question (I think in this thread) - the upper floor of the ride will be the same layout as Maelstrom. Still in boats, still backwards section and track switches.

In fact it's Maelstrom without the Norway overlay.

Or Maelstrom with a Frozen skin.

Thanks for the update. So, with that info and the knowledge of load and unload being done at the old unload area, plus the information about a change in the path at the old load to make that into two show scenes, we have a strong sense as to what the ride will be like functionally.

The big question now would be the execution -- is this going to be a "book report" ride of the movie Frozen? Or will it somehow be more of a "Elsa, Anna and Olaf talk to you about Norway" kinda set up. I'm assuming the former.
