Disney confirms 'Frozen' makeover coming to Epcot's Norway Pavilion

At least in the 3 Caballeros movie, they went to actual Mexico. And the ride is still about Mexico. Not a fictional country that looks sort of like Mexico.
As a Mexican I still hated that ride.
it was "Donald randomly appears for tiny moments around stereotyped stuff in an screen".

I would have loved to see more stuff, like full quality charro suits... the different dances... and not just the "famous" ones.. more historic wise.
The videos also are kinda ancient... like that Acapulco diving video that was probably taken in the 80's.

You know what's funny?
Person 1: Norway is the best place for Frozen!
Person 2: No way, Frozen has nothing to do with Norway.
Person 1: Yes it does, the land of Arendelle is based on Norway.
Person 2: It is a Danish story!!!

I think it is time for everyone to start to argue over the attraction itself since it is being built and that is not changing. Questions could include "Do you think the queue length is going to be a nightmare and what could they do to fix this?" Or "Looking at the concept art, it looks to be kind of bland, what do you think?"

Just tell me one thing...is there alcohol served in Poster Showcase?
probably cheesesteaks? :hilarious:

Disney and I couldn't come to terms over the use of my IP so I ended up making a deal with Universal. Fat Val Kilmer dolls are now the hottest selling souvenirs in Orlando and Sean Young's Hooch is an extremely popular beverage. We'll be opening Phase Two of Lebeau's Le Land some time next year. It's going to be themed to Bridget Fonda and Phoebe Cates. I expect it will be very popular. We'll also have a Steven Seagal dunking tank.

Guys, (oops, Gals too, Sorry Eva Peron). This is all getting out of hand. This all makes perfect sense as pointed out by certain people. Lest we forget:

A) Tourism is up in norway,

B) Ten year old girls deserve more stuff

C) Rachels is hiring

Get off Disneys back already. We have seen the cold hard facts that justify everything happening at Epcot. Now sit back and get excited for whatever they give us!!!

Feel free to add additional information that I may have left out.

I dont believe she had made it past 3 consecutive posts without contradicting herself and/or not following her own advice. Im sure the feminist card will be played shortly, then queue the (self declared) victimization followed by a disappearing act and random spouts about Norwegian tourism. Thats seems to be rather important for some reason.
I honestly have a huge pet peeve on both sides of this spectrum.
The "Feminist"(which actually is a misandry) fighting meninists ( aka misogynists) and both claiming to want "equality". Where the real Feminists (equality) get the worst of the fight and their attempts of equality ruined by these 2 extreme camps that are incredibly irrational.

Ooooo, ooooo, oooooooh! I got one.

I was noticing that the concept art clearly shows 1 AA and 2 massive screens. Will we hear a peep from all the people who SLAM Universal's screens?

Announcement is not a good date to work from since in Disney's case I have found it to be all over the board. Avatar got announced long before construction started, but DVCs generally get announced well after. Announcement is really a Marketing decision, not a construction one.
Not to mention that Disney loves to make announcements as PR stunts to raise popularity.
Anyone remembers how much I loved to poke fun of the famous announcement of the announcement of the "soon to open" mine train?
They even did an event for that with Bob.

We waited that long for a Little Mermaid ride and look at what we got...

At least they fixed many issues with the ride. like the horrible visible ceiling equipment and the way too bright light.
hopefully they will be adding the repairs and modifications it needs.

Frozen is an American story about a fictional country called Arendalle produced by an American movie studio loosely based on a story about a Russian Princess that was written by a Danish author.

Perfect fit for the Norwegian Pavilion.

Siren, how many other World Showcase pavilions' headline attractions are based on fictional countries? A simple number would be the answer to that question.
It seems we're again going back to the start.
Full circle already (for the 5th time? or it was the 7th? I already refuse to count)

I know I couldn't be more excited for something they may or may not build 10 years from now. I'm on pins and needles waiting for the next announcement that they are considering announcing something some time soon. Taking into consideration of course that "soon" is a relative term and as long as some announcement happens at some point between now and the end of time Disney will have fulfilled its promise to someday announce something.

These are truly exciting times for fans of anticipation.

Maybe not.. because these screens are MAGICAL.. even more MAGICAL than Harry Potter's. :hilarious:

Modern Disney still exceeds my expectations. I expect them to build mediocre attractions really slowly. And I am always blown away with how slowly Disney builds. And I am really impressed with the level of mediocrity they have achieved.

You go, Mickey!

Your first question is going to open up the can of worms again;) "What could they do to fix this?" Oh, I don't know, maybe put it somewhere else?

And until we get more concept art or images from inside the building, there's not much to say. To meet demand they need more boats with more seats. They also need a longer ride, as Maelstrom was short already. 6-7 quick show scenes? Incline, Vikings, Trolls, Polar Bear, Turn and drop, Oil, then Seaside Town. 4 mins tops.

Yeah, buried somewhere in the 386 pages of arguing are some numbers.

Assuming the ride is open 9-9, we're looking 10,800 guests/day can ride. (Assuming they actually hit 900/hr) Right now, thats 1/3rd of the Epcot audience. which is averaging 31381 guests/day. Assuming they get the 20% attendance bump thats been rumored/thrown around, looking at 37657 guests/day, an extra 6276 guests. Which would be there specifically for Frozen and take up 58% of capacity as it is.

Operationally, they're screwed... excitement notwithstanding.

Which would mean World Showcase, or at least the pavilion currently known as Norway, opens at 9, not the usual 11.

And that assumes they open that part of world showcase at 9 instead of 11...

Disagree. You can throw out 50% of that audience that only comes for F&B and has no interest in Frozen. Regardless of how low capacity will be, it still has to be more than a meet and greet, right?
