Disney confirms 'Frozen' makeover coming to Epcot's Norway Pavilion

Why does there even need to be a target audience? Can they not just build rides with the goal of entertaining the widest audience possible? I would really like to know who the "target audience" was for rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and numerous other examples that I could list here.
I think the "target audience" is whichever one best fits his argument

Today you are able to teach and show so much from your own computer. It does require significant effort, just as if I were doing so in Epcot. But I don't have to pay to see the history or culture that Disney wants me or my kids to see.
Then use your computer a to save yourself a lot of time an money and just watch youtube videos of your favorite attractions and visit WDW virtually. Its the same thing, right?

They didn't buy the Star Wars IP just to make movies.

Yet it was the very thing they had lined up the day they announced the purchase... and what justified spending billions. Yeah, who thought they had movies on their mind..

The day they bought Lucasfilm they announced 3 movies...
How many theme park attractions have they announced??

Their priorities were clear..

I'm just tired of people pretending epcot is something that it's not. Perhaps with the change to frozen more people will visit the WS and be inspired to visit and experience the real thing.

After some research, yep sure seems bookings are up because of frozen.

What exactly IS Epcot then? And if your in favor of the cartooning of it, what will people be inspired to visit if more changes like this occur? Are you inspired to visit any of the fairy tail worlds in Fantasy Land? Does Delta offer service to Neverland or the old west?

Everyone who loves the MagicBands and goes on about how wonderful the Disney-cuffs are, everyone who gives a positive guest satisfaction survey about MyMagic+... they all need to realise they've given up Star Wars in exchange for that.

So am I supposed to lie and say FP+ doesn’t work for me, just to prove a point that I'd prefer Disney had spent the money in other ways?

This whole thing is starting too feel too much like political parties.

I’m not an Eisnercrat or Pixiepublican. I think the parks quality is going downhill since Iger took over. I am against the changes to Epcot. I want my varried merchandise back. I think attraction maintenance and creation should have taken precedence over NGE.

But, I also like magicbands. FP+ works for me. I’m excited for Avatar. And I’m a DVC owner.

Where is there a place for the Disney moderate in this world? Someone who doesn’t need to answer feedback surveys down party lines.

I’m sorry, that’s all somewhat tongue in cheek. But, I get grief frequently for admitting that I like magic bands as if I’m not allowed to make up my mind on a case by case basis. I get it. NGE stole all the money. And if it were my decision to make, I’d much rather have SW in the parks than my magic band. But that doesn’t influence my opinion on the product itself. Allowing that bias to cloud my opinion on a guest survey seems disingenuous.

As much as I hate discussing rumors as if they are 'real', I'm not sure that you saw the second link in that post. It basically said that a delay in 'Star Wars Land' is due to TPTB simply wanting the new movie to be released first, not that it has anything to do with MM+.

Ambitious...but in 18 months? At WDI speed?

Yeah...that was my first thought, too.

I simply cannot see Disney committing to the expense of a brand new ride system for the attraction - particularly that one which I believe is very expensive. And in 18 months? Can WDW do anything in 18 months like that? How long as the hub been a mess? How many years was Fantasyland a construction site? Just don't see it unless they really are throwing some Universal dollars at it which seems, doubtful.

If it's true, that's great - but I don't really see how it can be.

If the new Stars Wars movie is a dud like Lone Ranger, then I think we can pretty much forget any Star Wars land coming to any of the Disney parks. On the other hand if Star Wars is a hit then a makeover of the American Adventure won't be far behind.

Whether people like it or not, Frozen will have legs. Especially inside a Disney theme park. Disney princesses are timeless inside a park, on top of Frozen being a very successful film. We shouldn't get so jaded we throw out reality. Frozen will probably be EPCOT's Peter Pan. Yesterday there was a 2 hour wait, while splash Mountain had a 15 minute wait. It makes no sense.
I suspect this is close to correct, except that PP's line is in part due to low capacity, which Frozen won't suffer from (presuming they use the current ride system, which I believe they will). I'm still of the view that Disney should wait at least 10-15 years before turning a new property into a major attraction in the parks, to see if it really will have staying power (Stitch, I'm looking at you). While I love Carsland, I think that one was a little too fast. So, I think a Frozen ride is premature. That said, I suspect Disney will win the bet of Frozen having staying power and being "timeless".

Still won't make up for it being in Epcot.

Perhaps you should form an S-Corp, buy a bunch of Disney stock and force them to make Epcot what you want of it.

Till then accept what they're doing. I've provided my points and am not wasting your or my own time to discuss it further in this thread. Since I'm not an insider or senior member of the forums like you keep spewing, why does my opinion matter so much to you to keep pulling it up?

If the last three SW movies were hits (and they were) with their lame acting and scripts I can only imagine what the folks behind the new SW movies will be able to do :)

The SW fan base is stronger than any other film based one in the world. I am not one myself (I am a mild SW fan at best) but those folks love their SW, if Mickey builds it they will come.

A mall with a science centre?

Since opening in 1982 World Showcase has added one ride, bringing its grand total to two. It has 15 full service restaurants though, which is probably why I don't think of it the same way I do other amusement parks.

Yep if you don;t leave Epcot fatter than your were when you went in your missing something :)

Epcot was a grand concept that was never realized, and that sucks cause I would love to live there!

Then in turned into a education themed park that was slowly made less relevant by society and technology. Now it's a theme park with some educational aspects still surviving but headed away from them slowly for better or for worse. I am fine with adding more Disney characters to the park, I like Disney characters and expect to see them freaking all over the place when I am at WDW. :)

Thank you. This is what I've been attempting to refer to as well.
