Tourists or non-tourists - people who don't know where they are going tend to be bad drivers. For some reason when folks are lost or confused, the last thing we are willing to do is pull over and figure it out somewhere out of the way - no, much better to drive down the middle of the road, distracted, blocking traffic, and ready to bail out in some ill-advised, erratic maneuver the second we think we might have it figured out.

Of course there is also the corralarry.

Whenever a local sees somone who is going on the slow side because they are looking for a street name or house number, the proper procedure is to tailgate them as close as possible with your high beams on, and when the slightest opportunity presents itself, roar past them, cut them off, and flip them the bird, because you KNOW they were driving slow and looking for signs for the sole purpose of annoying the person behind them, who was in such a rush because they had to get home and sit in front of the TV.

The sad fact is that many many people do not take 10 seconds out of their day to ....here it comes ..... be polite.

Let a person out of a parking spot, give them a break in traffic at a cross street, stop for a freaking pedestrian. I have found that I am rarely in a situation where me arriving 30 seconds later because I have been polite or understanding to another motorist will make any difference.

There is a place in this world that has worse drivers than any of the aforementioned cities and states.

Nassau in the Bahamas.

I would not feel safe driving a M1 Abrams tank on that island.

Okay Dave, you may live in New Jersey, but with this attitude, you can’t possibly be from New Jersey!

Born and bread. In fact, until I moved with my kids to a different town, my family had been in the same NJ township for 5 generations.

OK, so some of us have "defected" to upstate NH, or *shudder* Vermont :). But for the most part we "New Jerseyians"

I don't see Pittsburgh drivers mentioned on here.....and the reason for this is that we drive perfectly.

I drive all over the country. I think South Florida wins. It's almost as if they have very limited skills and don't really comprehend they are driving and not walking. Not to be racist or anything but it seems like they are all Hispanic and I notice that while wlaking Hispanic people in Miami always walk directly at me forcing me to move, like a game of chicken. I have noticed this for years and marvelled at it.

People in Albequerque are kind of on your butt all the time and WILL NOT let you merge on or off of a ramp.

Ohio drivers will drive side by side and block 3 lanes of traffic and no one will budge an inch.

Boston....I just can't get past those round-abouts....those are the devil's work.

That is nothing unique anymore. Go to any shopping center in the country and people just walk right out into traffic. When I was a kid I was always told that you look both ways before you cross the street and wait until it is clear to cross. Apparently somewhere between then and now the rules changed and I did not get the memo.

Yes, Hispanic people are all trying to force you to move. We all received an email detailing what to do in case we were to cross paths with you.
