You people making arguements about tourists being bad drivers and locals being bad drivers are crazy. Those tourists who are bad drivers go home and are locals that are still bad drivers. Just as locals who are bad drivers go on vacations and are tourists that are bad drivers. There are millions of horrible drivers out there no matter who you are or where you are.

Tourists or non-tourists - people who don't know where they are going tend to be bad drivers. For some reason when folks are lost or confused, the last thing we are willing to do is pull over and figure it out somewhere out of the way - no, much better to drive down the middle of the road, distracted, blocking traffic, and ready to bail out in some ill-advised, erratic maneuver the second we think we might have it figured out.

Some times it seems that is what they must be teaching in drivers ed. It just seems like everyone is doing it.

So when I retire and play the snowbird game in Florida. I'll only be a half-bad driver. Because there are no bad drivers in Ohio or any other state except Florida.

It doesn't matter who is at fault at this point. The sad part is there was a loss of life. (Somebody's son/daughter, boyfreind/girlfreind, brother/sister etc... My heart goes out to them.)

I'm not sure why the tourist vs. local argument started, when this person was indeed a CM who could have been an out-of-towner just as easily. People make mistakes, and perhaps in this situation she did. It's no reason to throw blame around, however. No matter what the facts end up being someone lost their life and a family lost someone important to them.

This is very sad. I feel for the person, and their family, who died in this awful accident. Their family must be in shock to lose someone that way. I also feel sad for the people on the bus who had to witness this. How scary and heartbreaking. I hope the bus driver is doing ok.

Very sad to hear, my thoughts go to the poor woman and her family.

I have to jump in on this little locals vs. tourists argument. South Floridian here, and I have to say that we boast the absolute worst drivers in the world down here. Don't even think about going less than 80 on 595-- you'll be pushed off the road! That being said, I cannot tell you how many times I've seen out-of-state plates doing stupid, STUPID things. Of course, I am a perfect driver

It was a CM. they estimated her speed to be around 50-60 mph at the time. she was in a 30 mph zone. and she had just crossed the double yellow line to pass another car, and when she went to get back into her lane, she lost control of the car and hit the bus head on. She was a Wilderness Lodge CM on her way home. She was speeding and making an illegal pass, but it still is tragic no matter how you look at it.

I've been to a couple dozen states and there seems to be a concentration of idiots in all of them. I will agree that I-4 in Orlando is very busy, very frantic, and not for the faint of heart. God I love Magical Express!

Yes, but my city's drivers have the surveys and statistics to back them up :ROFLOL:

Yes, according to an Orlando survey

(yes, I realize that there are surveys ranking most every state as the worst)
