Disney Big announcement next week!!!

Is anyone else a bit disturbed by this whole China park thing? Surely a country that has naked toddlers begging outside swanky department stores would fail to sit well with the Disney ideals. I know that they're a profit-seeking organisation, but I'd really consider them appalling sell-outs if they are opening in China.

With all the flights being cancelled to Orlando and airlines going belly under.......I vote for Magical Express airlines...."Free" flights as part of buying a package to go to WDW.

That and I could give a rat's ______ about them opening a park in China. I know I will never be there in my lifetime. Give me something I can use. I am being selfish here dammit......

That would actually be a fun resort. You get out of the shower and look in the mirror and there is a ghost standing next to you nodding its approval....

Wow - while I totally get the desire for something more useful (I have to cross the Channel and battle a load of French people to get to my nearest park - why couldn't land have been cheaper in Britain?) you know you'll never go to China? Do you have the rest of your life planned???

Could that disney doing a hotel in NYC thing be true? That would coinside with the world of disney store on 5th avenue closing. Why renew the lease if you are building a hotel of some sort in nyc.

Also the World of Disney Store in NYC is run by the parks section of disney.

My best guess at the likeliest things that would interest us:

1. The new Disney Parks promotion for 2009
2. The official announcements for Shanghai Disneyland, Jungle Trek, Kingdom Towers at the Contemporary, and the Monster's Inc Coaster at DHS
3. New Adventures by Disney destinations
4. New Disney Cruise Line destinations
5. Details on the DCA makeover including possible announcement of the dual park Little Mermaid attraction

It's definitely a good hypothesis, especially in light of the wording of the announcement in the OP. Here's hoping that you are on track!

hahahahahahahahaha wouldn't that be nice!!! Personally, I'd love to see Disney-Australia! I'd be there in a heartbeat!


anyways, I'm not getting my hopes up- I'm sure it will simply be the announcement of the new Celebrate Today marketing campaign. And the news about how American families travel or whatever will simply be that families like to travel to celebrate special days....:shrug:

They are going to Europe in 2010, but not the Med. Copenhagen's online port schedule had the Disney Magic visiting there, coming from Oslo and departing for Warnemunde (they've taken it down). Baltic/N. Europe cruise. The new ships don't come out until 2011 and 2012, but they'll be stuck in Port Canaveral.

I imagine that will be part of the announcement.
