Disney announces thirteen new tenants heading to Disney Springs

Would it be written into the lease? Not saying that a burlesque show is make or break for The Edison at all, but they must be paying boatloads to rent out the space. If I was paying out the a$$ for a space, i'd want to do things my way.
Oh yes. If you're on Disney property, you're doing everything under specific guidelines regardless of rent or anything else.

Then how does House of Blues get away with having the aforementioned Club nights on Sunday and Wednesdays (which are mostly attended by CPs and can affect job performance)? The club nights also have go-go dancers and a 3.5 hour set of either EDM or bump and grind throwback music. It's basically just a big party with a bunch of people looking to get laid.

I just find it odd that HOB can be about as un-Disney as it gets without being a strip club, but The Edison has to go by specific guidelines.

HOB has to go by the same guidelines as everyone else. They may just be doing what they want, unaware. No one is going to specifically train the managers or bookers in what is specifically allowed or not allowed. It's discretionary. A booker allows a promoter to book the club nights, then the promoter may not be aware either. Music isn't an issue, nor is the fact they're having a club night or a hospitality night that's mostly cast or otherwise trying to get laid. The go-go's are iffy, depending, but Disney may be looking past it. Executive management may be unaware, since they aren't going, and the mid-level management may not be as worried about the Disney image, or they may be there trying to get laid themselves. But if there are complaints I guarantee the go-go's or the nights themselves would be abruptly changed.

You definitely are. The back up at night isn't horrible, but it isn't fun.
Leaving today at around 7pm traffic coming in from epcot center drive was backed up to at least the arches. BVD east was a nightmare. It looked like they weren't allowing lefts at the tyhphoon lagoon light. Awful situation.

There are no left turns through the median (now the forthcoming bus lane) for the foreseeable future during construction. I haven't had it that bad yet, but it sounds nasty tonight.

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't mind the fact that they're having a club night or that it's mostly cast (I had some fun times there as a CP ;)), at least somebody is providing some sot of club experience on property.

I was more pointing out "well if HOB can do this, what's stopping The Edison?".

Hehe. I get you. Well, a club night is (in theory) no different from PI. I don't remember if Mannequins had dancers or not, but that was a Disney venue, so they would have been dressed. Not sure how bad the HOB dancers are. Burlesque is an entirely different animal and goes against what Disney is. Plus Edison will be very publicly visible for the first year or two. It's all here nor there - Edison will program other music acts that fit the Disney image, but still are for an adult crowd.

Also, Edison isn't a club night venue, just to clarify for those who don't know. It's more a cabaret room.

I get the point you're making, and from TWDC I can see why they'd want to protect the brand image. However i'll point out that the AC building itself is perfect for something like that with all of it's different rooms. It's perfectly set up to have a burlesque room possibly hidden away. Again, I doubt it'll happen, but the building is perfect for it.

In the end, I see it as being a lounge with cool lighting, designed beautifully and maybe having a DJ playing. It'd be easy to separate out and have a DJ in one room, maybe a restaurant section and then just a bar/lounge section. That's all just me thinking what they could do with the space though. I feel it'll definitely have a laid back vibe for the most part.

I'd love to see a speakeasy at Disney, themed to the hilt, and burlesque is hot right now. If someone can figure out a way to do Disney friendly burlesque, I'm all for it. :) (I'd personally love to see real burlesque just to watch the reactions of the crowd, but that's me.) Don't expect to recognize much from AC when they're done, though.

Aren't we rumored to be getting something similar to a speakeasy with The Tunnels? Not sure if it's going to be operated by The Edison, but would be cool.
Think the thought was The Tunnels were what Edison was going to be build, but it's actually called Edison. I didn't keep up with what the rumors were on Tunnels specifically, so I could be wrong.

That IS bad. That basically means no access to the garage from BVD east until they re-open that turn or finish the overpass? Awful.

There is, but it's from the turn in to the surface lot prior to the garage. If you pass that, your best bets are the lots to the right.

But that's what I was saying.. It looked like they weren't allowing a left at the typhoon lagoon light. There was a police car there... And another van with a flashing light in what I thought could be the left turn lane. Maybe it was just a temporary closure.

Oh sorry! That's supposed to be the one entry, so yes, temporary. Something must have happened. I see why traffic would be a total mess then.

Keep Moving Forward
So basically I can now go to many of the stores that have been in NYC for over a decade in Disney Springs!!!

Yay!

Or I can still avoid that area when I go to Disney. And shop for the same merchandise at home without stuffing it in luggage then on a plane.

And hit up Morimoto 10 blocks from from home.

Ah the future is here just like Walt envisioned!

This argument is so tired. Walt had sponsors and regular shops at Disneyland including a bra store -
