Disney announces thirteen new tenants heading to Disney Springs

I'd love to see a speakeasy at Disney, themed to the hilt, and burlesque is hot right now. If someone can figure out a way to do Disney friendly burlesque, I'm all for it. :) (I'd personally love to see real burlesque just to watch the reactions of the crowd, but that's me.) Don't expect to recognize much from AC when they're done, though.

How about a link to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? JESSICA in burlesque...it's Disney - owned IP. And, what's more, the exit gift shop would shift a lot of red dresses, so plenty of opportunity to upsell.

This argument is so tired. Walt had sponsors and regular shops at Disneyland including a bra store -

I'm very educated about Walt and Disney. And you missed my point. As did a couple others. Then tried to be nasty toward me.

That doesn't bother me at all. I love myself and do not care if strangers don't. :)

Having said that, I'm fine with Disney having sponsors (always have) and stores and restaurants that aren't Disney (always have). However Disney Springs is a new concept. And I do not like many of the choices being made for new tenants.

Hope that clears things up. Have a great day!

And if anyone wants to spit vitrial or insults as a response, I'm not responding. I will let you sit in it and stare at your reflection. :)

Perhaps you need a bra? And a Xanax?

It looks like Disney Springs is shaping nicely. Lots of good places to eat and different types of retail. It would be impossible to have unique shops that you can't find outside of WDW. But it looks like they are high end retail. I kind of wish there was more family entertainment going in like a Miniature golf based off the Black Pearl from Pirates. It will be beautiful once it's all done. Will it be done early 2016?

This is the type of response that is intellegent and that I respect.

I agree with the "high end" statement and lack of family entertainment that could reference Disney.

If many of the upcoming stores and restaurants were already in your neighborhood for over 10 years, and were not solely chosen by Disney for turning Springs into a high end shopping mall, you may see my point of view.

UNIQLO is an excellent example of the type of stores we need Disney Springs to consist of. It's from Japan and the only other locations in the United States are in NY/NJ/MA and California. It will be unique for 90% of guests. Hopefully we see a few more of this type of concept and fewer concepts like Art of Shaving and Flip Flop Land.

One IS coming. I have no idea why it hasn't been announced yet.

I understand it has been somewhat on and off. And of course, any announcements are done in cooperation with the tenants - and the Town Center area where the Apple store would go is about a year away from being done. It is more than likely just too soon if indeed the deal has closed.

Apple has never really talked up new stores, besides those with a substantial level of bureaucracy attached (like the coming San Francisco store.) They don't even put graphics on construction barricades until the store is very near completion, and were silent as they built their monstrous and very distinctive Stanford Shopping Center store. I don't expect an official announcement until the store is very close to finished.

There's a mix of styles going into the Town Center, much like how a city would normally grow. Some older buildings, some newer looking retail. The glass box could be a Zara or a multitude of other options. Apple sometimes does ultra modern glass facades, but they also go into many older buildings as well in cities around the world.

The concept art just released shows the apple store. That glass building is unmistakable as an apple store, which doesn't really seem to fit the theme, but I would imagine Apple would be insistent.

The giant red box is more reminiscent of a Guess jeans store than Apple. The floating roof with supports and lack of symmetry are also big Apple no-nos. Observe:

Apple is all about symmetry. The roof and pavement all line up with the glass walls. If I had to make a guess, i'd expect something like the Santa Monica location with an arched roof, which is their standalone building look:

Agree that it is a mess right now. That however is looking at a few months (year max?) over the rest of the lifetime of DTD and it is short term loss, long term gain.

They are well behind schedule. I've been told privately that the entire project won't be done until late next year. So, at best we're looking at another 16 months of the area being a disaster zone.

What has gone so horridly wrong? I mean for expanding an outdoor shopping mall, what discord could ensue?

STK, Morimoto, BOATHOUSE, Edison are certainly highlights - and in a level above what you will find at most lifestyle centers. Looking forward to all of those.

There are some more big things coming in the same vein.

Agree on the Friday night announcement, strange.

Yep. All of those are locations that interest me as opposed to World of Disney, T-Rex or whatever cupcake shop is now going to be the Lifestyler hangout. ... I was kicking myself for not trying the Boathouse last month, but now that there's a CM discount, I'm glad I waited!

No one could tell me why the (good) news was being buried on a Friday night. It again reinforces that so many people at WDW today don't understand the basics of THEIR jobs. This was worthy of a major play-up. And it was wasted until they start opening and Disney can have the bloggers out again.

You understand correctly. But it will be there ...
