Oh no, someone made a veiled 'brilliant' post attacking other posters on an obscure Disney forum!!!!
Yeah... all the showings worldwide are still empty.
Yeah... all the showings worldwide are still empty.
The movie is a bomb, pretty much nothing is going to change that, and we all acknowledge that. The only question is how much its going to lose.Yeah... all the showings worldwide are still empty.
It's not whataboutism. You specifically chimed in questioning the validity of a analogy. Then proceeded to give an example that's no where near the same situation as zegler and snow white. So if you're going to talk about a movie that had a bad 1st impression, that's fine. But the least you could do is make it semi comparable if you are going to dismiss others analogies.I'm not going to get into this whataboutisms with you. I provided examples where first impressions about a movie were bad and they were overcome. This movie has a mountain to overcome, and I don't think it will, and never claimed otherwise.
The marketing went all in on comparisons to the original film even including scenes from it side by side with scenes from the new movie. If their marketing was supposed to contradict what was said wasn't going to be in the film/was going to be in the film then I definitely missed it. I definitely didn't see anything indicating a prince saving her or indicating they dropped the leadership thing.
Maybe if you're really following closely it was there, but I have no reason to do that when there are dozens of other films to pay attention to and it's already been made clear to me that this film is not going to be something I want.
Alrighty, well lets talk about how much it's going to lose. Whats the over/under on it dropping more than 60% this weekend?
What's the over/under on it not cracking 100m domestic?
Oh half the country probably feels that way. You need to get over it.It's not whataboutism. You specifically chimed in questioning the validity of a analogy. I won't get to into the first part of your post as it will get political. I think you're off base on it. It wasn't a flub, it was how she feels. It's not one post like you say. She's made her feelings known very clearly.

Except the analogy the poster made and that I was talking about was about the comments made at D23 not the posts in 2024 that you're wanting to focus on. So my examples were specific to the D23 comments, not the 2024 comment. So I'm not giving examples for your scenario as that isn't the focus of my conversation. It's not whataboutism. I didn't say it was a flub. I said it a rash heat of the moment dumb post. And I have no doubt that is how she felt at the moment, but that doesn't mean she hates people like you and others claim. Again one can dislike someone's decisions without hating them.I won't get to into the first part of your post as it will get political. I think you're off base on it. It wasn't a flub, it was how she feels. It's not one post like you say. She's made her feelings known very clearly.
That's fairly ignorant to say. Why do I have to get over it? The ones who need to get over anything, are the ones that think she didn't alienate a huge part of the buying public and are making excuses for her. That's money this film desperately needed. And constantly trying to spin it. Quick question, wasn't the vote pretty close to 50/50?Oh half the country probably feels that way. You need to get over it.
And in other news Theater Owners are looking at ways to entice movie goers back to theaters.

All these suggestions would be a turn off for many though, so hopefully they keep thinking.

Yes, 50/50 is two halves. That's fairly ignorant to say. Why do I have to get over it? The ones who need to get over anything, are the ones that think she didn't alienate a huge part of the buying public and are making excuses for her. That's money this film desperately needed. And just for context, that 50/50 only represents less than 40% of the actual country. So whomever cares about this, as valid as their feelings might be, is only reflected in about 20ish% of the country, not the entire or even half the country.Yes, 50/50 is two halves.
Look, this has to be faux outrage. There's no way I'm going to believe that normal adults care this much whether a twenty-something actor hates them or not. I just don't buy it.
But he's also a smooth talker. He could use his Hades persona and call me worthless trash to my face, and after the initital shock & anger subsided, I'd probably be like: "You know, the guy's got a point."I mean, James Woods has said some pretty awful things about people on the left and never apologised for them. That’s not going to stop me from watching Hercules.![]()
Why isn’t anyone seeing the movie?Yes, 50/50 is two halves.

You know I wanna say this is wrong but I can’t. I physically can’t.But he's also a smooth talker. He could use his Hades persona and call me worthless trash to my face, and after the initital shock & anger subsided, I'd probably be like: "You know, the guy's got a point."
I think it’s agreed by most that they played a significant role in her apology. That was their way of defusing the situation, consistent with the company’s general aversion to involving itself in such controversies if they can avoid it. And before anyone mentions Carano, as she herself has acknowledged, Disney likewise offered her the opportunity to apologise. She exercised her right not to take it, and it’s only then that they fired her and issued a public statement about her posts.Well they sure as heck didn't disown the statements. So as I was told here, and many agreed with. If you don't condemn it you are endorsing it.
No need to suggest this…it’s exactly what’s going onThis cyclical framing seems somewhat at odds with your earlier then vs. now framing, which suggested that people used to be able to trust Disney but no longer can.
