We will never see a movie as great as the original Time Bandits.
Why couldn't the dwarves look like this?

Honestly, I'm old and I remember when dwarf actors were in some stuff semi-regularly and we didn't have to pretend they don't exist. And yet the only names that come to mind are Billy Barty and Herve Villachez.
What about Kenny Baker (played R2-D2), Warwick Davis (Willow), Felix Silla (Twiki), David Rappaport and Jack Purvis?

I'm sorry but did something happen in the past 12 hours? Because as far as I can tell nothing new has happened.

Jonah Platt, the adult son of Snow White's producer Marc Platt, got into an Instagram spat with Palestine fans who were accusing Marc Platt of "harassing" Rachel Zegler over her outspoken political views. Here's the quote Jonah Platt posted on Instagram....

"Yeah, my dad, the producer of [an] enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to fly across the country to reprimand his 20-year-old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for."

And then in another post he went on to push back on the people defending Miss Zegler and criticizing his dad for daring to stand up to her and her antics as the producer of the mega-budget movie...

"This is called adult responsibility and accountability. And her actions clearly hurt the film’s box office. Free speech does not mean you’re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions."

Platt continued, "Tens of thousands of people worked on that film, and she hijacked the conversation for her own immature desires at the risk of all the colleagues and crew and blue-collar workers who depend on that movie to be successful."

And with that Instagram exchange, Mr. Platt basically summed many of the arguments in this thread that criticize Miss Zegler and get people branded as ists and phobes and Hate Network members for daring to agree.

So, yeah, something new happened in the past 12 hours.

Just add it to the list, it likely won’t affect the Snow White box office much, just one more talking point and another nail in its coffin.

Problem with those comments is that they weren’t made in private employment. They were made separately and were then were then dug up later in a (obviously successful) attempt at creating #controversy.

What I find surprising in that information from Jonah Platt is that his dad had to do this himself. I would think a big company like Disney would have an HR senior exec step in and reprimand Rachal Zegler for sabotaging the movie and dragging her political beliefs into a cartoon movie where it doesn't belong.

But I guess that is actually the job of the "producer", to have to reprimand unprofessional employees of the film during and after production leading up to the film's release? Who knew?!

It's ridiculous that a producer has to do that sort of thing with wayward employees, but Miss Zegler managed to do it.

That story didn't break in the past 12 hours though, even if that outlet only reported on it now they are late to the party. So that story is already old by this point. Someone even posted about it in the last day or two, but I believe it was deleted by the MODs.

So yeah nothing new has happened in the past 12 hours, so its in the same state it was yesterday.

Agreed. And I don't think it was the only reason for the movie's floppy performance. But certainly an unneeded part of its demise in the global marketplace.

And I get that the producer's son is defending his dad here, who is clearly at the end of his rope with Miss Zegler.

Umm, wrong. The exact opposite, in fact; her comments were thanking the fans for the response to the Snow White trailer, and that was her reply to that comment

She literally thanked people for watching the Snow White trailer, and then added free Palestine, they were intrinsically linked.

No one mentioned that topic in this thread a day or two ago. We'd remember that. You must be thinking of something else.

The oldest media reporting on this I can find came from 18 hours ago in The Hollywood Reporter. Then Variety and People picked up the story 17 hours ago. It hit the major media in the past 2 to 4 hours (11am Mountain Time), on Fox News, USA Today, Newsweek, etc. Entertainment Weekly just put up its story on it less than 15 minutes ago.

So yes, it's a new story and is now popping up on the front page of major news websites in the past 6 hours or less.

Someone posted the original THR article in the thread, if the article came out yesterday then it was yesterday. I remember it, which is why I knew about it already. And so yeah it was probably deleted by the MODs, along with all the other Gaza War comments over the last couple days which delves into politics.

So its not new, it didn't happen in the last 12 hours, sorry to break it to you. And so the comment of the poster that its getting "worse" is not true, because its in the same spot it was yesterday. And this story isn't going to move the needle.

And intrinsically insufferable.

The big news today about Jonah Platt defending his dad on Instagram, and with excellent reasoning and very valid points about the damage Miss Zegler caused to his dad's product and all the thousands of people working on it for salaries far less than what Miss Zegler makes, is another sandbag tied around her young career.

No no the other other comments.
This made me chuckle, not because it’s a bad comment but because there’s been so many controversies it’s actually a very fair statement. It’s hard to keep track of what was said when, when it became controversial, and how each comment may or may not have affected the movie.

I bet Disney can’t wait for this movie to be in the rear view mirror and to move the focus to Stitch and other upcoming movies.
