Yes in 2024 its still currently a major source of income. That wasn't even a debate.
Agree to disagree, we had this discussion in this thread and others before. We don't know what the landscape will be 5, 10, or 15 years from now. So again don't want to belabor the point. You think that theatrical will still be the primary source of income for the foreseeable future, some of us don't. Only time will tell how it turns out.
For sure, only time tells.
And time in many ways has told. The best anyone has is to look to the past.
As much as we all gripe on theaters and the bad experiences we can sometimes have. There are millions of years of sharing a story programing.
There are billions of dollars in studies on it still to this day.
And advertising in theaters, is far more effective than streaming advertising for home as well.
Some things, are just fact.
History shows theaters are far more likely to be the major way show business makes their money vs home video options.
It is wild to me too, theater has not been killed by any other home medium yet, but it is fact. And there is not much more instant it can get.
There is not even a shifting trend to it being not the case. So a change like that in five, ten, and fifteen years has no signs of being likely.
