I don’t think we’ve yet talked about F4 has reviewed quite well. Similarly to Superman.
That’s in the fantastic four thread…this one can’t handle anything substantive 🤪

I was expecting the Tomatometer to drop as more reviews came in, but it has held up.

Tale as old as time..... Too many changes during the creative process.

If you go back to the Wish thread I'm sure there are about a thousand posts on it.
That’s correct! And in my opinion, it’s for the best! She’s a terrible CCO of WDAS anyway!😡I hope Jared Bush will make WDAS great again. No Trump pun intended!😏

Using the “How busy are Tony’s local theaters?” metric (19% more accurate than counting Halloween costumes) - Tony’s theaters are too damn busy - at least for tonight.

Okay gang, here we go with another mega-budget summer tentpole from Burbank! The Fantastic Four!

It did very well in Wednesday/Thursday previews at about $24 Million. With a production budget of $200 Million, and at least $100 Million spent on marketing (plus a nifty robot at Disneyland), it's going to be a rather heavy lift to get it to profitability. But as it's shaping up to have a very good opening weekend, it's entirely possible for it to at least break even, if not create actual profit! 💰

Elio & Lilo & Stich are likely in their homestretch of theater screenings, but both are doing what they've been doing. One was a huge hit, one was a huge bomb. You know which was which.

A personal note: I'm greeting my sister and other family all arriving at Lindbergh Field this evening, and then I'll be busy into August (In the wise and immortal words of Jan & Dean... Summer Means Fun!). I may not be here consistently to track the box office for The Fantastic Four, but know that I am with you in spirit. I was accused once in this thread of avoiding box office hits when I was traveling overseas last year and obviously not using the ship's WiFi enough, so just know I'm still fully invested in this fabulous thread.

But please don't have all the fun without me! 🥳

MK can get Marvel characters, just not all of them. For example they can get Fantastic Four I believe.
I know they can get some characters. I don’t think they can get the fantastic four as universal operates doctor dooms fearfall and a restaurant themed to the fantastic four and the contract states that they can’t use any characters universal is using.

I guess you're right, I forgot about Dr Doom, never having been there its easy to forget which characters are and are not allowed since I don't look at the old MCA contract everyday.

IIRC the IPs they can't use are:

X-Men (Storm attraction)
Avengers (Hulk attraction)
Fantastic 4 (Doom attraction)
Spider-Verse (Spider-Man attraction)

Its based on the "families" of the characters defined in the contract, not just the rides themselves. Uni has to maintain the rides in order to keep the exclusivity but its not the ride themselves that define what characters can or cannot be used in WDW.
