However it doesn't alter the fact that a web site, this one or any other, can, and does influence the people who post, or simply visit it.

And no one ever said it didn't, which is why your blathering makes little sense.

How you arrive there from "we are not the average audience of WDW" is your own little special invention.

Passholder and DVC discounts just released for the remaining dates. $75.

Are DVC members and passholders really the target audience for this though?

It depends. If the person lives close enough to go whenever they want, no chance.

However, a person can be a DVC member and snag a one day ticket for a huge discount off the one day price, that's not too terrible, if all they wanted was to enjoy some time at MK and then spend the rest of their vacation at their awesome hotel. I have family members that come mostly just to enjoy Florida, since they've been to the parks many times (and there really isn't much "new" to do). They'd certainly bite at $75.

I don't see it being very popular with Annual Passholders though, since they already have access to the park.

Why? In business, you cannot make changes without taking chances and having some changes fail. Sometimes it takes trial and error to find the right price, product or service.

OTOH, offer a half-off discount to DVC members and Passholders helps address the complaints that they don't get as many special discounts.:cautious::angelic::cool:

Because they are greedy and this was a slap in the face.

Why go to the Poly when you can go to Hawaii? That's a better question.

What is it about the stale, neglected, over-priced and, most certainly, overrated Disney outpost in the rapidly being filled over swamps makes you want to visit?
At this point I can only assume you are being paid for the amount of negative rhetoric you display on this site. Either that, or you are attempting an interesting social experiment to see what effect your negative Brand can have on a fan ecosystem. Either way, I congratulate you on your success.

As a DVC member this would be worth it if I didn't have an annual pass but since I do I would not pay the 75. On the otherhand if they continue to offer it when I go with my brother I may get the tickets for them and go with them. But I can't see this continuing after the failed experiment.

I asked my 18 yo if he would want to do something like this (he loves MK, hates the crowds) and he gave a huge "HA!" at the price of $150 (raised him right!) I asked him what price would he pay, and his answer was $75. Keep in mind this is all my money... so no, $75 is still not cool considering we have our APs and plan on spending most of the upcoming trip in Universal, Epcot and AK.

I don't understand why the term "greed" is used so often.

Disney is not a charity. They charge money for goods and services. They often charge more for what they provide compared to similar companies.

"Greed" seems to be a generic term used to criticize Disney's decisions, but doesn't really mean anything. Why do we have to pay to park hop? Corporate greed! Why do we have to pay more to stay at a deluxe resort? Corporate greed! Why do prices go up? Corporate greed!

This event and the accompanying price tag don't represent "corporate greed" any more than anything else Disney charges for.

Greed - intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food

Let me think about that for a moment.

....

I've been working in the private sector for decades. Knowing what I know about what goes on behind closed doors, yeah, that's about right.

It's the difference between wanting to be financially successful versus having the "intense and selfish desire" to make lots of cash no matter who gets harmed along the way. The "kill or be killed" instinct present in many boardrooms.

The movie Wall Street has a lot of memorial quotes but my favorite always gets overlooked:

The main thing about money, Bud, is that it makes you do things you don't want to do.

Is Disney trying to harm anyone via their revenue generating activities?

My main issue is people who complain about a change and cite "corporate greed" as their only argument.

For example, "ugh, Disney raised prices again, it's corporate greed to charge so much!", as opposed to "I think it's wrong they changed the FP+ fireworks viewing area into a reserved spot for dessert party attendees, that takes away something that used to be available to all guests".
