Disney After Hours Event

If you do it right and plan accordingly (following a touring plan), you really wont have to wait at all. Your longest wait will probably be for food.

You can't always go at the ideal time, etc. sometimes we go just when the schedule says we will be in Orlando... Or you go when all the other activities allow. Everyone's block outs change as your kids age. Parenting at 0-5 is different from 5-9, 9-15, 15-18, etc.

Last night we were kind of shocked because for the first time in recent memory we were all in the house for the evening with no commitments! :) minus Easter.. We couldn't remember last time that happened

I agree - and even then, many hate or try to use the WDW official site as little as possible. The majority of our travel agency clients have us do the work for them, and many times we need to give them a tutorial on how to use My Disney Experience for their trip.

What's NOT to hate about the OFFICIAL Disney site when making a reservation, That it likes to error out after you have typed several names in to the reservation for starters, My go to trick is to make the reservation with just my name online and then call member services and have them fill in the details saves the laptop from being thrown through the nearest window after you have redone something 5 times...

We are trying that with the kids and grand kids. Don't know if we will drive each other crazy, and get up and leave.

No and no. You are off by orders of thousands... And while you think we may be representative... We are not the middle.
I don't think so....
Try doing some basic investigation and do the math.
This site alone has over 90,500 members.
As I mentioned in the previous post very few of them are regular posters.
Earlier this morning there were 431 people viewing this site.
Of those 97 were members, 271 were guests, and 63 were bots.
So less than one tenth of one percent of the members were logged in.
Of the remaining 99.99% most were likely going about there lives not giving a rats patoot what is being written in these pages.
But!!!
If they want to study up for an upcoming trip to a Disney venue, or just want to see what's new in the Disney universe, they may well log in here and read some of the posts.
At some point they will likely read my, or your, posts here and what we discuss will have an affect on their decisions concerning their planning for a visit to WDW or one of the other Disney destinations.
The potential exists for this site alone to have an influence on a number of people nearly double to the average daily attendance of The Magic Kingdom at WDW.
Multiply that by the dozen or so WDW fan web sites on the net and you have a huge number of people who are members, albeit not avid posters, of Disney web sites and who have the potential to have their plans for a Disney trip influenced by those sites.
However.....
Feel free to dismiss the potential influence on Disney's visitors by stating that the opinions posted here and on other Disney fan sites are non sequitur.

To quote a well known (now) Disney character,
"I find your lack of faith disturbing." ;)

Haaate their website. Horrible. At least the app isn't really THAT bad to navigate, IMHO. They've improved it a little over time and keep making some improvements. I also detest Walmart's website. It's just as awful. Ordering on there at times has been MADDENING.

EDIT: hmm. Walmart. Interesting I thought of that one.

This site has had 90,500 members sign up over the past 15+ years...

That's in the ball park of folks you'll find at WDW at any one time.

You just have no concept of the numbers you are talking about.

Don't trust those stats religiously... But even if you took the 200 plus count... Disney will have more than 380 TIMES that number waking up in a Disney bed this morning... Let alone the total that would visit their parks today alone. And then multiply those numbers by 50-60 to deal with the same people don't say all year... While a website is going to have far more repeat visitors.

Disney has millions of unique visitors a year... We here are not even in the same league

Vegas will make you a real drink, not like Disney's watered down kiddie drinks.
So will the bars on Bourbon St in N'Awlins... A Sazerac would go down well about now after reading about Disney but it's not 5 o clock no matter WHAT Jimmy Buffet says...
First Vegas and now New Orleans. You guys need to stop...I'm about to break out a bottle of tequila and a six pack even though it's barely past noon. I'm way overdo for a long weekend away that I barely remember;)

It makes no difference when they signed up.
The fact that they can access the information here and make decisions based on that information is the factor that determines whether this, or any other web site, can influence corporate decisions.
The number of guests, more than 2.5 times the number of members logged in, also says a great deal about the potential influence of a fan, or any other type of web site.
Bots checking this site out numbered over 2/3 of the number of members logged in.
The bots are gathering information based on key words and phrases and reporting their findings to the parties monitoring them.
All of this adds up to a substantial potential for a web site to have influence.
And yes, I do have a concept of the numbers involved.
I also have an understanding of the concept and purpose of web sites that cater to a particular audience.

Don't trust those stats religiously... But even if you took the 200 plus count... Disney will have more than 380 TIMES that number waking up in a Disney bed this morning... I repeat, out of quotes, You lack confidence in a web sites potential.

Did you get lost on the way to DIS?

If they signed up in 2003 for a Disney vacation they took, and never came back to the site, yeah, it does. In any case, no one debates the popularity of this site - it is very popular. But it's still a tiny tiny tiny percentage of WDW's guests.

In any case, your posts make so little sense and have nothing to do with what is being discussed, and yet clearly, you have no idea of the scope of WDW's audience.

We are well aware of what eyes watch this board, however, that still does not make us typical of the WDW audience, who can't even properly name each of the WDW theme parks.

Being condescending and dismissive to someone you disagree with appears to be a trait that you take particular pride in based on your sig line.

However it doesn't alter the fact that a web site, this one or any other, can, and does influence the people who post, or simply visit it.
Here is a decent read on the subject of web influence.

No I fully understand it... you however misapply it and extrapolate into jib jab.
The web presence of a site like this.. or other more trip focus sites like TP or DIS... does not make us representative of Disney's average guests. You are confusing very different things.
Well...
We'll just have to disagree on this point.

When I told my kid about our last Disney vacation he said "Can we please go somewhere besides Disney or Hawaii!?"
I'll give you one guess as to whether or not he's joining me on my trip at the Poly in May.
Am I the only one that would pay 149 or more if they had special fireworks like Dvc party, special characters and real food, while still limiting attendance
Your post made me laugh. We've lived on Oahu for the past 14 years and moved here when our boys were barely teens. (Military brats that have lived many places, including overseas, so it's not like they've never been other places) After a few trips to WDW, they said to our shock- "Not there again!" Well, next trip we left them at home, to their great surprise. (And, they were very careful about complaining after that!)

We have taken them back- most recently after one son served a mission for our church and the other during leave from the USMC after a hard deployment, and both trips are our best memories of the parks.

Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed the story. It has me hoping when I take him back next year he will be a bit more grateful

Just this week I had someone call AK animal world and someone that has been to Disney ask if they owned Universal Parks
