Will we need to wave our hands frantically to defeat the WaltBots? Is there a $49.99 tool we can purchase to increase our chances of survival?
Just bring some acid to throw at the Waltbot face to blind him. It worked in West World.

My thoughts;
Maybe, just maybe... we shouldn't be putting words Walt himself doesn't have the ability to approve of, coming out of his own mouth with a complete recreation of 'his' voice & likeness that almost completely passes off as the real deal.. eh?
One thing to get an actor that can play him, etc... to say things that aren't him.. but another to use his 'own' voice & likeness manipulated..
Just wait and see... we'll eventually start seeing him this way in a new version of the Wonderful World of Color/Disneyland of him talking, by veratim of corporate speeches about how important immersion & storytelling and bringing beloved Disney film & television stories & characters to life is the heart & soul of Imagineering. Yeeeah..
Let the man rest in peace, and let us honor what he 'actually said along with the spirit, talent, and qualities we can learn from that's actually legit/made..not artificial. Thanks.
The difference between this & Great Moments with Lincoln, for instance. Is that in the pre show, Walt goes out of his way to explain the "how' and why' they did it and showcases the people behind the A figure, Blaine Gibson who did the molds/sculpting, etc.
On top of it, it's not 'actual' footage of Lincoln nor his real voice being manipulated. It's original artwork depicted by artists, an 'actor' portraying him. And his 'actual’ Gettysburg address being said. Not words unsaid by him. So please, don't argue with me that it's the same thing. It isn't.... not a fan...

Walt is a historical figure. People can manipulate him anyway they see fit.

He may be a historical figure, but the example you show is tasteful. It’s an artists’ interpretation of him. A ‘actor’ portraying him. Not his ‘actual’ voice & footage of him being artificially doctored/manipulated. I believe there are ethics to it. But whatever. Can’t control what Disney does.

Great post! Although, Lincoln's speech is a compilation of excerpts from various speeches, not his Gettysburg address- so there is mild artistic liberty there- not a faithful recreation of his most famous speech

Like how Disney airbrushed out a cigarette in Walt's hand? He just always held his fingers that way.

Even Tom Hanks held his hand like he holding an invisible cigarette.

Not exactly approving that.. but simply removing a cigar is a lot different than making him say stuff he never said using his actual voice & footage doctored to say so is crossing a line IMO. Whatever, it is what it is.

Footage is doctored all the time and with enough voice samples, a person can be made to say anything. People on these forums routinely tell us what Walt would have thought of something. We have to be smart enough to tell fact from fiction and weed out the trolls.

Creating an animatronic of Abraham Lincoln in 1964 seems very much in the same vein as creating a deepfake of Walt in 2023. I think Walt would absolutely love this. You may think he would hate it. The reality is he’s long dead, and if you believe Walt is looking down on us from heaven, then he’s probably annoyed that people keep claiming to know what his opinion would be.
