To be honest, the only part of JP I like is the starting segment outside. I thought the gate and the movie-esque narration were the best part. Once you get inside the animatronics (Except the T_Rex) all seem cheesy and underdone. I have always said that Dinosaur ranks in my Top 5 attractions of all time and it probably always will. Anyone else duck as low as humanly possible when you hear, "BRACE YOURSELVES!!! THIS IS IT!!!" ? I see the flash then duck and close my eyes. Leaves an eerie afterimage of the Carno in my field of vision, kind of like a bright camera flash.
Well, up until recently, the after-image of the Carno would get stuck in my vision without having to do all that...
But on my recent trips (June and Decmeber), I noticed that there's a new light in that scene that I don't remember from before. It's a bright red light (with either a pattern in the light, or it's shining through some branches) up and to your right shining roughly across the ride path.
The problem is that it stays on during that entire scene. It doesn't flash like the other effect lighting. It provides too much light to the scene, and makes the Carno visible earlier than before and lets you see your approach and start down into the star tunnel.
Before, you didn't really see the Carno until the bright white flash, which was enough to keep him burned in your vision and everything else dark as you "fell" into the star tunnel. And as your vision cleared, you saw the time tunnel zooming at you and *boom*, you "landed" in it.
I'm wondering if this is a new light that was added for some reason, or if a control circuit is broken and it's stuck in the on position... Either way, it takes away from the scene. Oh, and bring back the laser portals! (At least the smoke in the first time tunnel is working)
