Which is the better ride? I have never been to DCA or DL, but I have ridden Dinosaur. They are both basically the same ride, just different theming with one being Indiana Jones and one being Dinosaur. Which one is better? I love the ride Dinosaur, so would I be dissapointed when I ride Indiana Jones or have a pleasant surprise giving it the same expectations as Dinosaur?

Indy is far superior to Dinosaur.

First of all ,the queue is amazing. The theme of a recently uncovered temple in India is remarkable. The lights flicker because they are on a generator, the eyes have been removed from all of the paintings/statues in the queue etc.
Once you board the ride, there are 3 different boons you may be granted. Youth and beauty, wealth/gold or the ability to see the future are the options.

The ride track is essentially the same, but Indy has more details in the ride to enjoy.

I think that if you ever come out here, you will greatly enjoy Indy.

I enjoy both rides. I've ridden Dinosaur many times but Indy only once. The first time I rode Dinosaur several years ago, the big dino would "chase" the vehicle at one point. I don't think it does that anymore and it lessens the ride. The only time I rode Indy I was very impressed great theming (even in the queue) and a nice flow to the storyline. Which is better? Right now I would vote Indy. But either way, you will not be disappointed with Indy.

He still chases you. He gets more love from WDI than the Yeti.

Hard to say, if everything worked all the time on both of them, I think I'd pick Dinosaur, I just feel its more wild. exciting, and has a little bit more of an obvious story (not to mention it makes a lot more sense to be riding a jeep outdoors than inside a temple). However, since both tend to have a lot of broken effects I think Indy wins, as the sets and movement alone can carry it, Dinosaur needs the effects more.

Don't believe anyone who tells you that. Yes the ride system and track is the same - but they are as alike as small world is to pirates of the carribean.

Dinosaur is basically get jerked around in the dark with flashes of light and a few lights on dinosaur AAs thrown in.

Indy is an adventure through a temple including physical effects, visual effects, fire, a massive open bridge scene, the rolling ball finale, and encounters with great Indiana Jones AA figures.

Even being the same 'ride' - they are not even in the same league together. Dinosaur is forgettable, Indy is one of the best theme park attractions ever built.

Dinosaur, even if everything is working, can't get close to Indy.

The tracks and ride systems are virtually identical, but that's all.

Shame. Dinosaur has so much potential if it ran as designed.

Until you break down. Then you see just how bad the Indy AA's are,

and want to kick DisneyCo for fudging up so much that Harrison Ford (who was originally onboard) refused to lend his likeness or voice.

I have to say the Indiana Jones is way better. I have been to DL once and the whole storyline to the Dinosaur one is much less interesting that Indy.

Personally, I think Dinosaur is also one of the best them park attractions ever built, although in the last few years its gone downhill a bit. At the time it was opened though it was amazing, and still is really great.

You do know the AAs were upgraded in recent years right? (2009+) The AAs are still closer to you than most rides and are integrated great. The Indy on the rope is done especially well. The 'likeness' issue I really don't think is a big deal.

Huge potential - lost with ride changes and appalling show standards.

Indy is a 9.5 while Dino is an 8 in my opinion.

Although the queue for Dino is underrated, the queue for Indy is perfect - it does transport you to a different world. The ride and the jerks are the same, but inside the temple is an amazing trip. The only thing that I feel Dino does better is the "photo shot" when the jeep stalls and the big dino comes out from the right. In Indy its a giant snake and not nearly as intimidating and scary.

Overall, Indy comes out on top. Just an awesome attraction!

Honestly, I enjoy both, but I find Indy Lacking. The Massive Cave scene is pretty amazing, as is the finale, and the scene with the air blasts, but other then that, I honestly found it lacking.

To be fair, I went on Dinosaur First, and it's one of my favorite theme park ride anywhere. Dinosaur is one of the most quotable attractions in Walt Disney World, while I couldn't understand a word anyone said on Indy. Dinosaur is also extremely frenetic which I enjoy, and I think that Dinosaurs are just cool. Let's check 'em out.

(See what I did there?)

I honestly wasn't blown away by Indy's theming or story. It's a great ride, but I was underwhelmed. I honestly believe that part of that was because of how hyped it is. Everyone says that Indy is better, so since I love Dinosaur so much I was expecting a LOT. And I wasn't disappointed per se, but I didn't think it deserved the hype it gets.

Even though I've never been on Indiana Jones Adventure, I voted for it; in my mind I can see a lot better ride than the Dinosaur theme (not a fan if you hadn't guessed it).

You made the right choice... :P

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I too experienced Dinosaur first so maybe I'm biased. I don't know if I'd go as far as to say Indy is lacking, but I tend to enjoy Dinosaur more. I happen to like that some of it happens in complete darkness (because those parts are exciting), love the narration, and even though quite a bit is missing from when it opened I still feel like it at least equals Indy. It's more exciting throughout, with Dinosaurs everywhere and speed and bumps all the time. There's no down time. On Indy, some scenes are dull enough that I still sometimes forget they exist. (The rat room, when the car stalls (and it took me forever to figure out that was what was happened), and the blank space between Indy holding open the door and the big room reveal). I feel like I'm downing Indy, and that's not my intent - It's a really great ride and maybe even better than Dinosaur, I just don't see how everyone comes to the conclusion so easily that its so massively better.

One additional point is that I find Dinosaur much more realistic (at least as realistic as any time travel ride can be), in that it feels like your careening through a jungle, at night, and there's no telling where exactly you are or what's around the corner. Indy, is a very peculiar temple with hallways especially made for driving, and snakes about 1000 times bigger than possible, all with an extremely present, albeit well written, musical score.

In short, I like Dinosaur better, but both rides are probably the best ever made. I actually find either one of them better than Spiderman as well and maybe Forbidden Journey (minus the queue), but that's a different debate.
