Countdown to extinction came before the movie.... Dinosaur didn't.
Yah ....But Dinosaur and countdown to extinction are the same ride. There really is NO tie in to the movie "DINOSAUR" except for aladar out front. and Dinosaur in my opinion is better. Not by much but I like being scared more and the chasing carnotaur is by far the coolest AA figure anywhere in disney...so just for that It beats all. I do agree though that BOTH Dinosaur and INDy are WAYYYY better then harry potter or spiderman.

This is one reason why I am not opposed to cloned rides at the parks. I will probably never make it out to California, as I'm sure many others won't either. So, why can't we have the awesome Indy ride at WDW, too?

I agree, but I'd rather see something new that only WDW has. That's just me though

Put me in the Indy crowd. I just never liked the story and premise of Dinosaur. It just never seemed as well thought out as the Indy one. Plus, the Indy queue kicks Dinosaur's butt. But you usually don't have the long wait on Dinosaur. The ride was made in preparation for the movie "Dinosaur". It got re-branded once the movie finally came out. It would not pain me to see this thing get re-themed with a different story.

I am not trying to be mean or snarky here but I dont like comparing the queues because indys is obviously going to be cooler. One is an old temple while the other is basically a museum with some skeletons. There is no comparison both are themed well to what your suppose to feel. And I dont think the ride was made for the movie....Im not posistive if you know forsure or a source I can read that would be great but I would think if they were to promote the movie...they would have made the dinos talk? and not scare the crap out of you.

I've never checked the story on the development of the ride but some things don't happen by chance. I know more about the movie production. Both the attraction and the movie were in development and production at the same time. The film was actually a bit of a mess in its production. The original Countdown to Extinction actually matches closer to the original idea for the movie. The original plan for the movie was darker with no talking dinosaurs. It was not going to be as cute family movie as it ended up being. The Iguanodon and the Carnotaurus were always the focal characters of both the movie and the ride. The is practically zero chance that occurred by accident within the same company.

Using your mindset.. why on earth would anyone think making a show about a bunch of birds would entertaining at all? Or how could a MOUSE be seen cuddley or desirable?

You are using the outcomes of people's choices in how to bring the concept to life.. to say that is all it could EVER be and was predetermined to be that way. That is not how things work.

Indy could have been utility tunnel.. instead we get a river jungle temple.. booby traps, 30s film emulation, a comical character, other explorer tie-ins, etc.

You completely discount the creative process that created the results.

but Im saying the queues fit the story?! like if the ride DINOSAUR...started off in a prehistoric jungle or an ancient temple sure it would be cooler but I am saying the dino institute itself is done well. I personally think its cool! I am saying the temple is cooler just because its more exciting than a dinosaur fossil exhibit. thats all. Im not saying they werent creative. I love going past the carnotaur skeleton
