Dinosaur has seen better days

Often the ride has a low queue early in the day, and it's a good opportunity to have a few rides to get the ride count up. The pre-show is good the first time, after that it's like, really, do I have to watch this again ha

I can't help wondering if the name change of the ride to Dinosaur was due to an album title of the same name from Megadeth...🤔

Usually in the mornings, the CMs will let you skip the preshow if they recognize you. I did this on my last trip (Xmas 2021 week) and got like 6 rides back to back until the wait time built up.

No point in rope dropping FoP right away if I'm going to have to wait 3 hours now regardless, or 3 hours later. Multiple Dinosaur(s) is a better deal imo.

We managed 5 rides on Everest, jumped over to the Safari for its opening and then 3 goes on Dinosaur within the first hour of full park opening on our second attempt at early entry. The first we managed FoP and then every queue was on fire by time we got out.

By that point we'd been on 9 rides so we were happy, we'd wait for FoP to drop a bit then wouldn't mind the queue.

My thoughts exactly. Everyone knows Poseidon’s Fury is on its way out at some point... but universal still took the time to refurb AND reopen it. 🤷🏻‍♂️
what a perfect distillation of the difference of standard operating procedures between the two companies. The only time think of any attraction pad put on ice for a long time in UO, maybe Hercules/Xena -> Transformers ? Compare that to all of the attraction space that the Disney Parks division has rushed to mothball at first chance, then hem and haw for years, if not decades, on a replacement. This is not something new either, this goes back 20+ years with Disney.

It is almost as if Disney should be making their parks worth thousands of dollars paid for by consumers. :)

How prescient: "but y’know, Bob, it will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired.” - Peter Gibbons, Office Space

Any insiders care to speculate on news for an upcoming refurb - or something - for this ride soon?
only thing that I heard and this was from this site was that they were going to re theme the land Indiana Jones. Replace Dinosaur with the Indiana Jones ride as someone mentioned its the same track. They need to do something with the area. the boardwalk theme was not it. have to say i did not mind the small mouse coaster they had there with the spinning cars but that ride took so long to load. When you think about AK there is not much there that brings you back, they need to start doing a few neat little rides the little ones can go on like the triceratops spin (re-brand that too) or some type of leaning ride (like universe of energy was) indoors to get out of the heat. Sorry dont yell at me for this but AK is my 4th park to go to.

They kind of need to focus more on the animals, although I suspect that the animals will eventually be protested away.

They could do some things like a sky-ride or, better yet, a Peoplemover over the animal exhibits to get you a closer look at what they have. Yes, they have the Safari and that's nice. They also have the whole walk through area which is cool but it's sort of a one and done.

It would seem that when a ride is left unmaintained, it is a signal that change could be coming (see Splash Mountain)… and to add relevancy, they took the mouse coaster out, for what reason??? I think something is up… but I have been wrong before.

i remember reading rumors on this site probabaly, that the imagineers had something big planned for that area but then it was scaled back a lot and havent heard anything since. I would love to see AK get some love, esp with all the 100s of millions being spent on the other 3 parks. But even as it stands, with the least amount of rides, AK is still my fave of the 4 FL parks

Dino land is cursed for sure, I was walking through a restaurant and over heard a teenage kid tell their mom that they didn’t understand the story of Dinosaur LOL.

I love it, too bad they toned the ride down a lot but I feel that Dinoland should had been next to Zoo trek between Asia and Africa, the Indiana Jones theming would fit perfectly there.

WIth all the hype from the 5th movie I could see them revamping the entire area, I would actually look forward to this if it was tangible.
