Le Cellier is one of those places where you have to call 180 days in advance because it fills sooooo quickly.. I tried to get it on the 180 mark and I couldn't even get a lunch.. which is more popular now, since its one credit unlike 2 credits for dinner.

Which ADR do you want to change.. I have been to Coral Reef but not Norway and I wasn't a fan of Coral Reef.. the atmosphere was great but that was all in our opinion. Tutto Italia is great.. I am dining at Teppan Edo for the first time this year and I hear nothing but good things. There are so many dining options in Epcot and there are menus and reviews all over to help you decide. Have a wonderful trip!

Coral Reef is a cool place to have a meal, but the food is very hit or miss, but much more miss. My advice is just to spend some time in The Seas pavilion, and skip Coral Reef.

Maybe have lunch at Rose & Crown right on the water. Or try Via Napoli.

As for dinner, I have not tried Akershus, so I can't really offer any input there.

Here are the menus for Rose & Crown, and Via Napoli.

Hello and congratulations on your upcoming WDW trip!

Deciding on dining selections is a highly personal matter depending on numerous factors....what are the ages of the little children? does anyone have any food allergies or aversions? do you want a quiet dining experience or a louder venue?

I recommend reviewing the menus for each restaurant in Epcot and reading the reviews. There is also a food picture forum on wdwmagic that allows you to look at many of the selections.

Epcot has a myriad of excellent dining selections and I personally would not choose either Akershus or Coral Reef if I only had two meals in Epcot. Akershus is a character dining experience, specifically princesses. My family does not enjoy character dining but if your family does, this may be perfect. Likewise, I am not thrilled with the menu items. Would the 20 year old be freaked out by princesses coming by their table or get into it?

I have eaten at Coral Reef and while the setting was novel, the food and service were sub-par. My boys (7 and 9 at the time) really enjoyed watching the fish in the tank, but that was it. I think it just depends on your individual likes and the type of dining experience that you desire. You will find many people on this forum who will tout Akershus and Coral Reef as their favorites!

I would suggest looking into Via Napoli in the Italy pavilion. It may appeal more to the 20 somethings. It also is a louder restaurant so the sounds of children are somewhat masked! The wait staff is also generally very attractive which may also appeal to the younger set.

Rose & Crown in the United Kingdom pavilion is a also a venue that caters more to large groups. You can try for outdoor seating overlooking the water and a late seating outside gives you ring side seats for the fireworks. However, these spots are hard to secure and you will need reservations.

Another suggestion that I have is that you make dining reservations. You can do this either on the WDW official website or by calling 407-WDW-DINE. Most table service restaurants will have been booked by guests months ahead and if you do NOT have reservations you will likely have a long wait. By calling for reservations you will avoid the long waits and find out if dining at your chosen restaurant is even possible. You sure don't want to arrive at the podium at Akershus with little girls ready to see the princesses only to be told that the restaurant is completely booked. You can always try stand-by but it could be a long wait.

No matter which restaurant you chose, remember...YOU ARE IN WDW!! How bad can it be!!

Hilarious! I was typing my response while you were posting yours and we both recommended the same places!

The children will probably enjoy Akershus, but I've been with a big group there before and it was really cramped. Unness you are there specifially because of the characters, I would probably skip it.

We personally have enjoyed Coral Reef and thought the food was good. I think that it can be hit or miss though as the other posts suggest.

I would personally recommend Via Napoli and Biergarten because the atmosphere is fun for everyone from kids to adults and the food at both are fantastic.

I agree 100% about Akershus. Our favorite WDW dining experience was at Rose & Crown during IllumiNations. That's my #1 recommendation. Biergarten is also tons of fun, especially for a big group. Le Cellier is wonderful but it'll be extremely tough to get reservations at this point for a large group.

I would also recommend Via Napoli. Very good and don't forget to get the cheese fritter dessert. :slurp:

We love Teppan Edo as well. Its great food and a fun experience. Plus if you have 8 that's exactly how many fit at the table, so you don't have to sit with another party. Great for kids and adults! It's our favorite.

I have a similar question, so I thought this thread was appropriate...

How difficult is it to walk-up to some of the restaraunts in Epcot in late May? I know LeCelier is impossible...but I'm mainly looking at Tokyo Dining, Via Napoli, or the new Mexican TS. We have several ADR's for our week there, but I hate being tied down to one or two reservations everyday and thought about taking my chances with a few walk-ups (party of 5). We do not have any ADR's for our Epcot day and would like to have the option of a table service meal there.

We also do not have any ADR's for our day at HS...so any imput on the feasibility of a walk-up @ Prime Time would be appreciated as well.

(We have our CRT, 'Ohana, Crystal Palace, and Tusker House b'fast ADR's booked....I know those are impossilbe last minute additions).

personally, i would change both. Akerhaus is great for characters (you see the princesses) but the food for lunch and dinner is not great. Breakfast is good though. And coral reef seems to get it "love it or hate it" reviews. if you can get Le Cellier for lunch, its a great way to get to dine there and not have to give up 2 TS if you are on the dining plan. Also, Les Chefs is great. Rose and Crown is also very good! there is also good food to be found in China and Mexico. Hope this helps!!

It has been my experience that walk ups are impossible. We have tried a few times at a few different places in the World Showcase and were turned away each time. If you want to try any of the wonderful sit downs in the World Showcase, I would get reservations.

I have heard Via Napoli is great, but have not had the chance to eat there myself yet. Our favorites have been Teppan Edo & Les Chef's.

Here is another vote for changing both..so many options that I think you will enjoy much more!

The only restaurant in EPCOT that I've been successful doing a walk-up is the Restaurant Marrakesh. An amazing unsung gem of EPCOT. Great food and interesting entertainment.
