Trip Report Did someone spit on me... or is it raining? May/June 2018

Hello and Welcome!!!

Yes friends, unfortunately (but fortunately) I am back from my 3rd and final trip of 2018... I had to make sure my annual pass went to good use ;)

This trip was amazing and I'm so glad I was able to go back... but it left me wanting MORE!!!! More time, more Disney, more park days... TAKE ME BACK, ALREADY!!!

Since I've been home I've been working 5 days a week at my job, 30 hours a week... not enjoying my summer so far. But hey, a girl has to save for her next Disney adventure!

Daniel (who is not featured in this TR) also has landed himself a big boy job for the summer - which will turn over into an internship in the fall! They've even offered to hold his position for when he graduates next spring! :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: I'm so happy for him and in fact he is working his last shift at his old job right now!

Enough of the boring, real life details... I know you all want to hear about this trip! So on with the show!!

To recap ---

WHO: Myself (Becca, 20) and my mom, Lynn (older than me ;) )
WHEN: May 30th - June 3rd, 2018
WHERE: Port Orleans French Quarter
WHY: A mother-daughter adventure!

Before I start the recent photos... I just found this one from like 2010 (?) so I was like 11-12... and LOL

Epcot Con't:
We stopped at the bathrooms & the store in America. I bought myself a new tank top and I got Daniel a shirt to wear for the 4th of July :)
I didn't have to go to the bathroom so I took this picture -

And then we were headed to our next destination before our ADR at Via Napoli!
IMG_0987.jpg

We'll be back soon, Italy!

We headed back out and towards Italy after we found Donald!
IMG_1007.jpg

The sky was looking... dark. But we didn't feel any rain (yet) so we carried on.

IMG_1011.jpg
IMG_1015.jpg

I think our original ADR was for 2:25pm but we arrived at 2. They let us check in and in no time we were being called back. I'm glad it worked out!

IMG_1020.jpg

I got a coke, Mom got a diet & a glass of wine (no picture - sorry!)
IMG_1025.jpg

We split an individual pizza. I made sure to tip well since we only ordered this guy to share!
It was pretty good - but my two slices were burnt more than I like. All was well though! I can't wait to have it again :)
IMG_1026.jpg

Bellies full, we trudged through to the exit!
Next - Epcot, rain, pool time!

And here is where my TR title comes in ...
While we were walking along the bridge near France to the UK, my mom felt something on her arm. She turned to me and said "Uhh, I think someone spit on me. Did someone spit on me?? Did you feel that?? Is it raining??" I was cracking up :hilarious::hilarious: ESPECIALLY because I think someone DID spit on her :hilarious: I never felt any rain and there were no drops on the ground hahaha
IMG_1033.jpg
IMG_1034.jpg

Stopped back to grab the print we found earlier!
IMG_1035.jpg
IMG_1036.jpg

We got to the bus at 3:30 and waited maybe 2 minutes before a bus showed up!

We sat in the room for a little bit, I ate my cupcake (which was DELICIOUS!) and we swam. It was super gloomy and still at the pool so it didn't feel that great but hey, it's vacation!
IMG_1041.jpg

We were ready to go back to Epcot at 5:30(ish)!
IMG_1043.jpg

Yay for new ears AND a new tank top!
:joyfull:

Next - rain, rain... go away :cautious:

The saga of making purchases I don’t need continues:
View attachment 290783

The Disney Store had the larger Donald Duck suitcase on clearance and I was able to get it for $90 (usually $200). Donald is my favorite and I justified my purchase because I don't want to use my "good" luggage on the airlines for Disney trips because I'm worried it's just going to get too damaged. But I can use the Donald one for Disney and I won't mind if it gets scratched. Plus, it will be easier for Disney to replace if something does happen to it LOL. Anything to justify a purchase I don't technically "need" :angelic:

Thursday continued:
IMG_1046.jpg

We stopped for some dinner at the QS place at FQ (Floatworks I think).
IMG_1048.jpg

We got kids meals because we weren't starving! The fries here are SO good!! Wish I had some now :hungry:

When we got on the bus it started to rain :banghead: but it was just a drizzle so we decided to just go!
IMG_1049.jpg

We saw a gator on the way! This was one of many wild animals we spotted on this trip (not including KS ;) )

Annnnnnd cue the rain.
When we got off the bus it started to POUR!!!!
IMG_1050.jpg
IMG_1051.jpg

We switched our plans around and decided to get on the monorail.
IMG_1054.jpg

GoTG construction!
IMG_1057.jpg

Poly was not our stop...
IMG_1060.jpg

This was!

My mom says I was here once but I don't remember (but I do remember the Poly and Contemporary so this was our stop tonight!)
IMG_1061.jpg

Holy. Wow. This place is FANCY!!! I told Daniel he better start saving up!!
IMG_1062.jpg

We stopped in the gift shop upstairs and downstairs. I also went to the bathroom in the fanciest bathrooms around! I couldn't take a picture because there was a huge line and an attendant cleaning :angelic:

Next - plans change!

LOL. I have the big Mickey one and I LOVE IT! Seriously it's huge and it holds so much stuff. I'm glad you could justify that one ;)

So we were stuck on what to do. We wanted to see Illuminations but didn't know if the rain would allow that. I think I ended up getting a FP for something at MK, but when we hopped on the monorail, the sky decided to clear up. So I swapped that for an Illuminations FP.

We swapped monorails and were headed back to Epcot!

This construction has moved so quickly - it looks much different now!

It was finally done raining! Woohoo!

We (I) decided we needed a sweet snack so we were off once again - in search of something yummy!

Next - delicious snacks and a rainbow or two

I just want to interject my professional opinion real quick. By the looks of it, that gator was probably somewhere between 10-11ft, so it wasn't a little guy. ;) We've seen them before over at Riverside, so I'm not surprised that y'all saw one.
He was cute!! I used to be obsessed with alligators... no reason why LOL.
There was actually a couple on the bus from Louisiana who obviously see them all the time and they were so excited they saw one! It was quite comical.
They don't put the "wildlife in area" signs for no reason - but it was cool to see why they do!! :D

WHY DID YOU SHOW ME THIS. :banghead::arghh:

Literally just finished paying my bills and said to myself, "I have got to stop spending so much money." Then I got on here and... :inlove:

Resisting the urge... for now. :angelic:
Hahaha I was sitting at my desk this morning going through my various Disney sites... open the parks app... I literally hit "buy now" faster than you could even say magic band. My credit card bill may be a little higher but hey :angelic::angelic:

There's a Blaze just 20 minutes from my house and I've managed to stay away for 6 months! It's soooo addicting.
