Trip Report Did someone spit on me... or is it raining? May/June 2018

Hello and Welcome!!!

Yes friends, unfortunately (but fortunately) I am back from my 3rd and final trip of 2018... I had to make sure my annual pass went to good use ;)

This trip was amazing and I'm so glad I was able to go back... but it left me wanting MORE!!!! More time, more Disney, more park days... TAKE ME BACK, ALREADY!!!

Since I've been home I've been working 5 days a week at my job, 30 hours a week... not enjoying my summer so far. But hey, a girl has to save for her next Disney adventure!

Daniel (who is not featured in this TR) also has landed himself a big boy job for the summer - which will turn over into an internship in the fall! They've even offered to hold his position for when he graduates next spring! :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: I'm so happy for him and in fact he is working his last shift at his old job right now!

Enough of the boring, real life details... I know you all want to hear about this trip! So on with the show!!

To recap ---

WHO: Myself (Becca, 20) and my mom, Lynn (older than me ;) )
WHEN: May 30th - June 3rd, 2018
WHERE: Port Orleans French Quarter
WHY: A mother-daughter adventure!

Before I start the recent photos... I just found this one from like 2010 (?) so I was like 11-12... and LOL
CIMG0217.JPG

Hollister... flip phone... disney bus ... and Pins LOL what more could you ask for?!!?
It was too good not to share!!! :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

And here I am now! (except this is old too, from May 2017)

We decided to take the boat over to DS since the buses for some reason always take so long to arrive.

As you can tell by the water, it started to rain again as we were waiting :arghh:
View attachment 289650
Cute!!!

We put on our rain jackets/ponchos and managed to stay pretty dry! The boat ride over was great and fine except for this one teenage girl (15-16?) who was so snotty and annoying. We had sat on a bench on the boat and left space because it was all wet and we didn't want wet bottoms. She basically pushed us out of the way and was so rude about it. Okay... whatever!!

Got to DS and ducked in some stores since the rain was coming down pretty good!

Look at this cute ornament!!!!!!!
View attachment 289652View attachment 289653View attachment 289654View attachment 289655
Finally our dinner spot! We were a little early but we checked in anyway and we got sat within 10 minutes.
View attachment 289656
We both ordered the Art's Famous Fried chicken and got a side of mac & cheese to split!
View attachment 289657
Okay. This was beyond words. SOOOO GOOD!!! Expensive but good. We decided we would split one meal next time instead. The only "bad" thing was the biscuit was really dry and flavorless. I like Red Lobsters version better ;)

Next - more DS!

oh that chicken looks good.... we get a day trip to DS when we come to FL in November... we are debating food right now... Polite Pig was SO good, I don't know if I can go anywhere else!

Day 1 - finished up:
We finished up at World of Disney and decided to head out, both of us were dragging our feet by this point. I found this cute sign in the Co-Op and if I was going to have kids and I had a girl, I'd put this in her room!!
IMG_0799.jpg

Heck, I wanted to buy it for myself!!!!
If you can't read it, it says "I am brave. I am fearless. I am kind. I am courageous. I will work hard. I will always see the light. And fill the world with sunshine. My voice is my own. My reflection is my warrior. I will follow my own path. And choose my own adventure. I am a shooting star. I will wish, I will believe. I will dream it, I will do it. I am a Disney Princess" like how adorable is that!! For $250 though... as a college student... I will pass on buying for now:hilarious:

We decided it was time to leave so we chose to go by boat!
IMG_0800.jpg

I think we waited for like 5 minutes max.
We had to stop in the lobby so we could pay for the rest of the room or something (??) I really wasn't paying attention LOL
IMG_0803.jpg

Headed back up...
IMG_0805.jpg

Felt oh so patriotic with my new purchases :hilarious:
(A salute to all nations but mostly America)
IMG_0809.jpg

Stacy was on for a good 5 minutes before we both fell asleep!

Next - Epcot!

Thursday May 31st - Epcot:
Epcot opened at 8am for EMH, so we got up around 5:45/6.
No selfie today, sorry :hilarious:
IMG_0810.jpg

We were out the door and headed to fill our mugs!
IMG_0811.jpg

See the magic band?? Yeah I totally forgot I had turned it to inactive so when I tried to tap, they told me my band was off  Oops!
IMG_0813.jpg
IMG_0814.jpg

We did not wait long for a bus - 7 minutes or so...
IMG_0815.jpg

Sat down with my coke and Mom was sipping on her coffee. A great day was ahead of us!
IMG_0818.jpg

We were directed to the other side of bag check, which was a first for me! I had never been on this side :joyfull:

Headed to the first ride of the day!
IMG_0826.jpg

Hello monorail!! (and two random people!)
IMG_0827.jpg

What a beauty!
IMG_0830.jpg

So blurry, oops! While we were in line these two women behind us were talking about how the one was so scared to go on. They looked like they were 30-40 and it was so funny to see all these little kids in line but they were scared! We talked to the one woman and she calmed down. During the ride they were laughing and so happy, it was so fun to see!! And the people on the other side of us, when we flew over the castle in Germany (?) she was like "That's where I got engaged!!" :inlove: *I may have teared up*
IMG_0831.jpg

IMG_0832.jpg

After our flight we headed to my favorite Epcot ride!
IMG_0833.jpg

I asked for front row :inlove:
IMG_0834.jpg

Do you think they'd let me live here?

We headed over to Nemo since I changed our FP from LWTL to Nemo, but it wasn't quite 9 (it was 8:58) and they made us go standby...
IMG_0856.jpg
IMG_0859.jpg

This guy was actually moving!! I feel like I've never seen him move!!!!!! But the hanger fish part wasn't moving so I guess they traded being broken for the day LOL
IMG_0861.jpg

We yet again changed our FP - this time for Figment!

IMG_0863.jpg

We had to wait for 5 minutes but it was so nice out, we didn't mind :joyfull:

I didn't mean to take this of just these girls but why do parents let their children climb all over everything????? It annoys me so much!

Hahahah this cracks me up!

After our last ride, we stopped in some stores, hit the bathrooms and headed out!
View attachment 289006
Hm who could this remind me of?? @blgauger ;)
View attachment 289007View attachment 289008
And as soon as we started to leave... the skies opened up...

Next - Rain, rain, go away!!
I am torn on that picture of the girls. I have a pet peave about climbing on things not meant that and the need to sit down and the limited placed to do so.

Yep, Schloss Neuschwanstein in Germany!

1200px-Neuschwanstein_Castle_2.jpg

Fun fact: The design of Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland was partially inspired by Neuschwanstein. You can particularly see the resemblance when looking at the front gate of the castle.

I didn't realize how much bigger the new TVs in the renovated rooms are compared to the old ones. Wow that's a big difference lol. And I also suggest going on the Behind the Seeds tour. My husband and I went did that in 2016 and enjoyed it.

Your Living with the Land pics warm my heart. It's one of the last remaining remnants of the original Epcot. It has changed a bit since the first time I rode it back in 1983, but really only the very beginning section, the very end section, and in that it's a recorded spiel now, as opposed to a live cast member. I do miss them. It was nice to be able to ask them questions about what we were seeing.

Poor Figment. RIP Dreamfinder. Did they at least have the skunk spray working? I've read that they've pretty much turned it off at this point.

Enjoying your report!

I really love LWTL, honestly it is my favorite Epcot ride. I never got to experience "old" Epcot so what it was in 2001-now is all I know. The skunk was working, still gross to me LOL
