Diagon full opening day

That is dedication, in my younger days maybe!

Yeah.... I really want to experience this ride, but I won't wait more than an hour or so to do it. We'll be there for early entry both mornings of our stay and make every attempt to ride, but I won't waste my precious vacation time standing in line for one ride for hours and hours. Ain't happening!

Agree, we are headed back to WDW in 198 days and toyed with the ideal of going to Uni to see Potter 2.0 but decided we would wait until our 2016 trip to Orlando. Just don't want to mess with the crowds until they thin out some. We did Potter 1.0 the year it opened in Sept, it was beyond insane and way beyond enjoyable to be in that area of the park.

It did make the rest of IOA a pleasure visit though :)

Ahh... so the 4 hour line was to ride Gringott's, which wasn't even up and running ... not just to enter Diagon Alley.
Yeah. People basically waited hoping the ride would start running. There was no guarantee. I think the wait to get into DA was 45 minutes but they started giving out return tickets for that now.
I hope they work the kinks out because I'll be there in October!

i was in that line and unlike yesterday morning they were letting anyone with a ticket in early. resort stay pass or not..
That sucks. Defeats the purpose of guest paying for rooms or packages. I hope they start enforcing that.
I also hope they extend early entry into USF so that I can take advantage of it, I know OI was saying that it may only be temporary and come Sept, early entry would be limited to one park again. I was originally planning one day but decided to add two days and stay on site for the benefits.

Ok... at the risk of sounding harsh... as someone who is staying onsite, that really p*sses me off. If Early Entry is for onsite resort guests, they absolutely should not be allowing anyone in even one minute before official park opening except resort guests. I have never once in all my visits to both WDW and Uni ever gone to guest relations and complained about anything. I'm generally a very easy-going person and not a complainer, but I will if this is still occurring when we're there.

I can't imagine that they won't have early entry for both parks, but especially Diagon, beyond Sept. Everyone going to Uni for a long time to come is going to want to experience it. It would be nice if they offered at least a few other attractions outside of the HP areas during early entry too.

I hope so. Up until DA opened, early entry was only for IOA, all rides were open including Hogsmeade.
OI had said that it may only be that way for summer then would probably go back to only one park available for early entry to save $$$ on operating cost.

I have heard that two. But I heard it was taking them about 90 seconds to launch in between. Running 1000 guest per hour instead of 400 like opening day.
Also single rider is closed today.

OI isn't the most reliable source. But I have heard that after the crowds die down they may go to one park per day for early entry, but alternate days between IOA and USF. But it all depends on crowd levels.

That is what Touring Plans is reporting.
Probably because it is the first day running both sides so they didn't want to overwhelm the TMs, plus being down till 11 definitely caused crowds to back up, so they probably want to get it moving asap.

If that's the case, then they are going to end up with a lot of unhappy people who have already booked a single night onsite for a stay after September (we booked a night for December months ago - obviously at the time of booking there was no guarantee that USF would even open early, but now that it is...) if it turns out that they have booked for the "wrong" night (IOA instead of USF) - Universal can't get their park hours out months in advance let alone be able to tell you which night you would need to stay in their hotels to get in which park.

Could they start charging more for the "USF" night than an "IOA" night?

Very funny to read through this thread, almost hilarious at points. The sheer ignorance and assumptions based on comparisons to a poorly executed opening in 2010 and to the Summer 1990 opening madness are irrelevant. Gringotts has had growing pains and will for a little bit, remember this is the most advanced ride system on the planet. Not an off the shelf Omnimover or test track ride system. This bad boy makes FJ look like child's plays. Finally as for the attendance so far and especially opening day, you'd be shocked to know just how successful thus has been so far. 2014>>>>>>>>2010.

That is whack! What are they gonna do with all their beach chairs and sleeping bags and crap when they get in? Seriously. I have no idea.
