I will admit now, seeing as that the park is gonna get a full "redo" why they would opt to add an addition to TSMM...as dumb as is sounded at first, they r gonna need the capacity with barely having anything open...

Does this mean we will finally see an updated Great Movie Ride???

As I mentioned earlier TSMM will help with the capacity, but I also think if they are really going to do major work on the park that they will also need something new in the short term to keep people interested. DCA did their dance parties (Glow Fest, ElecTRONica and Mad T Party) as well as some attractions opening earlier.

While those additions do add to the experience the reality still is that the majority of the money was spent on rides based on Pixar properties.

In the case of DHS the majority of the money will likely be spent on Pixar and Star Wars but that doesn't mean there is no room for a few complimentary additions in various parts of the park to enhance the atmosphere and theme. For example they could upgrade Fantasmic, add a permanent Frozen attraction, refresh some of the existing shows with Tangled or Frozen, or get rid of the BAH to return the view while entering the park back to what it should be. All possibilities that would be small additions that wouldn't be based on non-Disney IPs. If they are making over the whole park I'm hoping for more than just adding Pixar and StarWars, but I'm thinking the majority of the budget will go to those things.
An update for Fantasmic would be great as well as new shows, but you should know as well as anyone here that a Frozen attraction was and will never be on the table for DHS. If it was, Maelstrom would still be open. The whole point of putting it there was the fact it would be cheap and easy. Kind of defeats the purpose if they put another ride in another park.

Are you suggesting there is a point when one could have *too much* Frozen in the parks? Surely not!

Dance parties on the streets of america make sense to me. Or maybe take advantage of the park theming and do a Star Wars themed dance party over in that area.

Or be TDO and do nothing.

TDO will laugh last.
Only if they manage to mutilate this project's budget as they succeeded in doing for FLE. Unfortunately I am quite certain a slashed budget remains well within the realm of possibility whenever TDO is involved (as well as Iger and his gang). If we're VERY lucky though, the few remaining quality oriented leaders in Burbank and the Board of Directors will ignore their idiocy and approve a huge budget for this mess of a park and refuse to cut and half it (and get some decent imagineers on the ball). If that occurs, TDO will be busy sweating nervously, chewing their fingernails to bloody stumps and trying to do everything they can to derail it (hopefully without success this time for a change) to have any opportunity for any sort of "laugh".

It is not 10 years ago. I don't know why people can't see things have changed. But if living in the past is necessary for people to maintain their sanity then whatever.

Since when was Fantasyland Expansion 10 years ago? This is now, and as long as TDO (and Iger) is allowed to get their way there's always a danger of budget cuts. We must all hope they don't get their grubby hands ahold of the project and it's allowed to be built without any roadblocks from their attempts to ruin it (and hopefully at a quick pace).

if this DHS expansion is as large as we think we may have turned a corner
Fantasyland done 2014
Disney Springs 2016
DHS re do 2018?
DAK make over 2017
at least things are headed in the right direction
One hopes so. Though it's also hoped that Fantasyland's expansion isn't an indication of the maximum level of quality we're going to get for the other projects on your list (or the amount of time they'll end up taking). Hopefully Cars Land is closer to the template of quality (or better).

Carsland and DCA 2.0 are Iger all the way. And highly successful. WDW looks like it will be getting a similar fix because Iger and the board can justify it. Simple.

Actually Cars Land was only as successful as it was is because Lasseter stepped in to save it when bean counter executives tried to slash into its budget and half it (the Mermaid ride on the other side of things was screwed up probably because his focus was with ensuring Cars turned out right). Hopefully he or someone like him are on board to ensure DHS doesn't succumb to the fate DCA 2.0 almost did.

so with Lassiter at DHS last week hopefully the same thing occurs

The parties are only really in DCA as they have a lot more repeat local visitors. Also I think WDW will want to maintain a more "family-friendly" atmosphere.
